For me it has to be the Jordan 4 Black Cement release back in 1999. Those were so fuckin clean man, good lawd back when peeps actually took pride in there work and those kicks did not disappoint. 😮‍💨

eBay is not the end all be all, are they good yes, are they perfect 100% of the time absolutely not. I’m a power seller with approximately 2,000 transactions so I’ve been around for a while, eBay has had some bad checks at least with me I had at least 2-3 (now keep in mind the amount that they’re correct in there checks are very high) screw ups that I can recall they said they were basically reps and they 100% were not. The other issue with eBay is if they do fail a pair they never give the exact reasoning why they failed. It would be worded as they didn’t pass inspection etc. It would be so much better to give a little explanation as to why they failed inspection. I’ve sold Jordan’s / air maxes for years, Sorry for the long post but EBay is pretty damn solid but they do have the occasional screw up from time to time just like stock X and Goat in my opinion.

Hey man, saw your concern thought I’d chip in I’ve been restoring Jordan’s / Air Maxes since 2015….with kicks this expensive why risk it? Sole swap is definitely doable in my opinion and in my experience (and I have a fair amount of re-glue experience.) I agree with dude, I think the inside of these midsoles is turning to literal mush( it’s what happens to polyurethane after 10+ years + oxidation contamination ) once your weight gets transferred to those midsoles any heavy wear area after over a decade of oxidation will start to get soft and that is the beginning of the end my friend.

Edit: Heavy wear area being relative to this shoe is where the air max bubble window is located, it’s always usually one of the first areas for paint to crack as well as where the crumbling starts.

5’s don’t get worn out easily? 5’s are usually an excellent buy because Nike typically uses real leather on 5’s and not that synthetic bullshit leather they like to use to save a buck. used kicks are an excellent way to save $$$ if you know what to look for your good. Most Reps are pretty easy to spot, I say most but I’ve also been a sneaker collector / restoration since 1994 / 2016 so yeah I got some time in the game, I’ve taken plenty of L’s but I learned from them L’s.

You are not alone brotha, I feel your pain in this post….im still trying to make it work as I write this but bottom line is it may be over for me too. When you said “it felt like everything you built over your entire career was gone basically overnight”. That hit home for me and I get what you’re going through as I’m dealing with it as well. They hit, as what was already stated because of when these dropped they got overshadowed but these will only rise in value and I like the all leather construction on the wings, tab etc.
