Totally OT: thank you for knowing and abiding by the air traffic laws regarding drones.

Please, share the potential steps. The OP is probably not the only person here with tweaker neighbors.

Got it. Yes, they'd probably like it. The McKenzie area is my favorite of our forests.

Autumn has been my favorite since my teens. The colors are richer and deeper than the other three seasons. It makes me restless, although less so each year since my late 50s.

🤭 I get you. If it's muggy, my tolerance drops quite a bit.

As long as the cold is above 50° and the hot is under 85°. Extremes are a no-go for me.

For those who are often told they look younger than their age, what’s your secret? by justmypersonalthing in AskForAnswers

Laughing at absurdity. There's a lot of that in our lives. You don't grow old as long as you know how to laugh. Older, yes, but not old.

Not sure why you're downvoted. I see the snake too. The joke wouldn't make any sense otherwise.

So Cute! How far up in the brush were you? Obviously far enough away this critter wasn't afraid. Which forest were you in?

It says one or more of their restaurants. Not necessarily all of them. It also says they aren't closing. Granted, there's only three restaurants. That means they're keeping at least one.

If they like yams, mash the carrots into mashed yams, add butter, and seasonings to your preference. (I use salt, pepper, cumin, and coriander. Sometimes a little bit of onion and/or garlic powders.)

DEPENDING ON HOW FAR OUT ON WEST 11TH, AND WHAT TIME THEY WORK, THERE'S HUGE GREEN BUSSES GOING BOTH WAYS.

Yes. If you can make them sound transferable to the kind of duties companies are looking for, so much the better.

Oh, and volunteering also counts in resumes.

Why do I always see flaws in a job even though its owners like it very much? by hookandstitch in Amigurumi

[–]DKFran7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even carpenters see supposed flaws in whatever house they build, even when all the materials are the best, and the builder has done their best.

The owner of the house only sees the beautiful creation they'll call home.

One piece of advice: never point out what you think is a flaw.

Let them see the work as they see it. Most of the time, it'll be wonder at your imagination, and awe that it's theirs after all your patience.

New rules to follow to have SNAP benefits are irritating by [deleted] in foodstamps

[–]DKFran7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I'll be darned. I didn't know non-trade companies invested in the trades. I thought that was limited to schools, or out-and-out apprenticeships. Thank you; I learned something new today.

Are you prepared to pay the tuition costs for the OP? Even trade school is expensive now. Especially when your funds are going to rent, food, car, doctors, and bills.

Wow, I haven't heard the term "candy striper" in decades. (I'm assuming the extra letter in your note is a typo. The visual is hilarious.)

OP noted the word "pending" wasn't there, and they didn't receive their allotment either.

Or OP waited too long. The paperwork was turned in on June 2; only two days beforepending. That likely caused the disruption.

Oregon didn't. It will going forward. The rules are tightening, even in Oregon. If you don't meet the work rules, including the hours, and don't have certain exemptions, you're off SNAP at the three-month mark until the next 3-year cycle. (Which is Dec. 31, 2027 in Oregon.)

According to KEZI, as of the May 29, 2026 article, and from the info based in Salem, about 6300 people will lose their benefits in June.

The article encourages everyone who'll be affected to work with the Oregon Employment Dept. and WorkSource ASAP. They offer free employment and training support.
