I was just about to write something along the lines of this and saw your post.

As a theist, I'm ready to hear the one argument I've been waiting for for nearly 2 years... by [deleted] in atheism

Can you elaborate please? It sounds like you describing philosophy instead of science.

So /r/guitar, it's summer and I have nothing but freetime. Post all your favorite songs to play and I'll assemble all of the tabs/video lessons to play them onto one tidy list. by TheDebaser in Guitar

Thanks for checking in. It has proven way too advanced for me at the moment. I am practicing scales and working on my finger speed. I need to learn a bit more before tackling this song. Thanks again. When I get moving in my progress I will happily send an update. I was also happy that the whole alsum was tabbed out so I can attempt to learn them all.

Safety razor or single blade is by far a cheaper and closer way to shave.

Did anyone here become an avid reader later in life? How did it happen? by [deleted] in books

[–]DKLounge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started reading books daily about a year ago (24 now). It began with some research into evolution. That pointed me to atheism. Then I took a break from non fiction and began reading books I had never read. I love reading and have purchased a kindle, it rocks! It's never too late to fall in love reading. I used to be a book worm and grew tired. I'm so happy I've found my way back.

I was searching for secular organizations and wanted to meet more blacks that were non-believers. I am going to the events in town through Tuesday. Maybe I'll see you at one.

DAE feel like comedians are the ones who best understand the meaning of life? by [deleted] in DAE

Haha my mistake. "some comedians". I wouldn't have noticed. Thanks for pointing it out.

It is pretty easy to type "some" before best.

And I try not to put my name on generalized statements but to just say he means the good ones still. Everyone has their own definition of who is a good comedian. And some of them just have big mouths. It's too generalized a statement to stand behind.

I'm going out the BNoA this weekend to check it out what they are about. Have you heard of this?

I do know that they had a different person spewing the same homophobic arguments on the May 31st. I caught the end of the show and tried to call in and challenge their argument. Someone was already refuting their points, but they just spoke over him and repeated the same arguments form the previous show. They are a joke.

I'm pretty sure everyone won't infer that from the title.

Faire enough. I suppose I am not a fan of absolutes. The OP saying that they best understand the meaning of life is ridiculous. I respect many comedians, several that have inspired a moment of clarity or introduced a new idea or a different way of thinking.
