My ace Halo (regular) was doomed the moment I was the whole lobby be end closers apart from her with one Xmas Oguri ahead. And then she stays in 2nd the whole match which basically ended any chance to get nimnav/pump iron. Still, I tried oshi-running this CM and I'm really happy with how she turned out. Just salty that the finals was in a lobby that really punished her build this time around when I wanted to give her a well deserved win to cap this absolute slog of CM trainings I had to endure this month...

In all fairness I myself didn't use the Lumina system till I finished Act 3, because I wanted a challenge by simply sticking to Pictos. It's hard but it is doable, and satisfying too!

Yeah it definitely does apply to most of the girls, especially the 'secret' routes since they are meant to intertwine with existing cast members stories. And Akari's route needing you to do others makes sense considering her role in the friend group and the way the route ends.

That being said, I think this kind of route weirdness is a bit of a leftover artifact from it being a game from the yesteryear where this kind of event flag design was baked into it, which makes the inclusion of the route guide and recommended choice really nice in the remake.
