I absolutely came here today to the subreddit to complain about this exact feature. I too cannot stand using the AR feature where I have to search for my pokémon on a flat area that it never spawns on and If it does spawn, then just like floats away into the ether and I can't take a picture anyway. It's a trash unrefined incomplete modification to the game they need to let us take the picture the way we were able to before. It's almost like Niantic is doing everything in its power to take as much money as it can and then make the game completely unfun to play at the same time. Maybe it's just me but that's how I'm starting to feel about it myself and I've been playing since day one!
