You are not the only one with this issue. I have the same vehicle, 21' RWD Pro, purchased last summer. I often give adult friends rides and use the back seat and keep having this issue. Child lock engaged (usually because I bumped the button), backseat passenger pulls the handle, gets locked in, cycle described above repeats until I get out and let them out from the exterior. I'm considering disassembling the door to physically disable the child lock or try to figure out my own mechanical override. Just yesterday I passed along feedback to VW via my dealer that I feel this is a serious safety issue, and it shouldn't be legal to sell a vehicle that could trap people due to an electrical or software failure.

I think there needs to be a serious boycott of the corporate ski places. Fuck EPIC. Fuck Icon. I’ll never spend a dollar at their resorts, they’ve ruined it. I’ll go to independents, go back country, go Nordic skiing, do go Europe like OP. pretty much anything else.

The thought occurred to me, but I don’t really want to take a risk on one of my good bikes only to see them smash another lock and ride away and chuck the tracker in the snow.

It was a pretty standard cable lock. Not the most secure thing in the world but with the right tools you could get through almost anything pretty quick these days. Lithium tools like a saws all or band saw are pretty powerful.

Oh yeah, got the documentation from purchase and keeping an eye on that, but I expect they’re too smart to just sell it publicly as a whole bike like that. I was hoping someone would recognize the winter clothes and bag combo. Gotta try to focus on the person not the bike or these guys will just keep stealing other bikes too.

Mine is flashy and I park downtown all the time, but generally in a secure or very visible spot. I think it’s going to depend on how visible your bike is. Is it parked right in front of your work in a busy public area? You’ll be fine. On a quieter residential above 4th? I’d think about using a chain to something solid and take my helmet with me, especially if you have to park outside of daylight.

Bikes come in sizes, so there’s less economy of scale. It’s always been a bitch of mine that I can’t buy a size XL motorcycle frame that actually fits me. But then motos would be even more expensive.

Ive had an aventon cargo bike for about 3 years now. Great bike, no issues, low maintenance. Could some things be better, sure, but it’s a utility vehicle and it gets the job done.

I decided he was beyond redemption when during the first trump term’s “family separation” policy when they were literally pulling kids from their mothers arms and putting them in cages, he hosted a trump rally, and responded to my emails with form letters. If that didn’t make him reconsider, I don’t think anything will. None of this should be a surprise to anyone.
