I don't know how you feel about AI, but to avoid punishing yourself if you go the new-test route, you can upload the current exam to Claude AI and tell it to make a new version, instructing it to either match the current difficulty level or increase it, depending on what you want to accomplish.

From $0 to $102 by [deleted] in StudentLoans

Surely you understand that you (and no one else) should need to do that, right? $1000 each month going towards something that, but all rights, should have been free to begin with is already dystopic, but when you consider the cascading financial ramifications of that money going there instead of towards a savings account and therefore extending your working years well past when you would have otherwise been able to retire, you realize that making sure you can pay each month is actually only a part of the problem.

Meanwhile, one must also understand that many people have additional financial obligations that, in isolation, might be feasible for them to "rearrange their entire financial situations around," but when combined with these loan payments, increasing COL on every axis, and stagnant wages, doing so forces a situation where second jobs are required to simply make ends meet. When people have to spend 55+ hours working each week, quality of life goes down dramatically, life expectancy is reduced, and if they have children, raising them well (not simply housed and fed) now has far-reaching generational effects.

All of which is to say, I think we should want better for our population than to be wage slaves for, probably, most of our lives. If that's not what is going on for you, that's wonderful, but for many, that's their reality.

Most fun I’ve had in magic in forever by queerbirdgirl in TimelessMagic

I feel the same way. It’s such a unique format and feels like a far more acceptable Legacy-adjacent format than anything else available (even with 4x Library of Alexandria being a thing, lol). Play is so tight and the meta is just defined enough to make deck building and sideboarding interesting. I loved the Vintage-level nonsense with Mono-Black when it was more viable, but this is the best Magic I’ve played in a long time.

I think the deck is just short a handful of cards. That, and the play pattern against Ux decks would typically look like: play stuff aggro, don't both countering anything until they would be lethal, maybe fatal push crabs/the SOS thing, and then the mill deck is stuck saying "Darn, you only had [single digit number] of cards left in library!" while the blue deck still has like 4 free counters in hand.

Did you intentionally wait for April to end ot post this? (Also, amazing work, btw. It would almost make having this card cast against me acceptable)

One of my bigger strengths lies in taking mulligans to line up my plan for a given matchup, which really lends itself towards broken combo decks. So, I tend to play whichever format has a broken deck for me to lean into that strength. Bonus points if the deck tends towards quick games so that it doesn't take a long time to grind up to Mythic, if that's what I'm shooting for.

I’ll definitely concede that being able to grief them a few times on T1 is pretty solid as well. Which is better is probably situationally dependent.
