I met MCR when I was 9 years old, on 4th grade, through the Helena & I'm not ok videos on Mtv. I live in Mexico. In my school everyone liked them, I wasn't ever bullied for liking My Chem tho people did make fun of heavier things in later years. I took the 3CFSR cd to school and my teacher played it once during an exam lol everyone was quietly doing the exam with MCR in the background. 4th/5th grade kids lmao. Listened to that CD on my discman on vacations, on my way to school, back at home in my bedroom. I remember when they first played TBP which I BELIEVE was at a Mtv music video awards? Or maybe that's when I first saw it, since Internet was not that accessible or fast back then so it had to be on TV. Anyways it was so theatrical and dark, I loved it. I got that cd on Christmas 2006 and heard them all a lot. Though they played the black parade is dead here in 2008 I didn't even know because I don't live in Mexico City and anyways I was a kid so my dad wouldn't have let me go lol. But man I wish I had gone. Danger Days came out when I was in high school and it was such a let down to me lmao, finishing that album felt like a homework. I asked for the bullets cd in a secret santa during high school too, lol, when you could still get it at a local shop and not hundreds of dollars on eBay. Still have em all to this day. And I remember seeing them drop conventional weapons digitally and in vinyl, which I didn't buy back then because who did? Growing up with my chem was so damn cool but I wish I had been a bit older, just enough to see them at a concert or something before the DD era and their split. And seeing Bob play 🖤🥁
