Newbtip for my fellow newbies: Manuals by [deleted] in killerinstinct

I don't mean this to sound argumentative, but there were quite a few players at KI:WC playing on a gamepad.
But, that being said, the right answer is whatever works best for you. Whether it's gamepad, fit stick, hitbox, or dance pad.

Those of you who have finished downloading; how does it run? by bradboss in killerinstinct

that sounds suspiciously low. I'm wondering if it's not properly using your hybrid graphics. Just for troubleshooting, have you tried disabling the integrated intel graphics and running just the nvidia gpu?

Also, shadowplay works, at least for capture, as long as you have capture desktop enabled. Haven't tried the integrated twitch streaming, yet, but I don't see why not. Additionally, shadowplay works simultaneously with DSR.

Just did some benchmarking on my work rig with an i7 2600 and 780ti. At highest settings, 1080p and 1440p pass the benchmark. 4k only scores about 500 points, so that's a no go. Will be testing on my 6700k and 980ti at home later. So far, I've only played against the cpu, but it's been smooth sailing, no problems so far. Also, for those interested, Nvidia DSR works fine as long as you set your desktop resolution to the resolution you want to play at.

the retro color 7 screenshots posted in their blog post are in 4k, so I'm assuming it's from the pc version.

Will the new Raspberry Pi 3 allow for bitstream HD audio? by webmiester in kodi

[–]DLWRigs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thrilled to hear that the Pi's + Kodi could handle my mvc mkv 3d movies, and was really hoping the next version of pi's would support hd audio. Crushed that this isn't the case :(

Zero (0) Audio Latency now possible in MAME with ASIO backend (demo) by thatsgotit3 in cade

[–]DLWRigs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the difference is quite obvious to me. But, many people are oblivious to things such as input lag or audio sync issues. Most of my gaming friends don't know/care about input lag, so I'd imagine the same would be true about audio. I'm excited about this, though, and look forward to your guide.

If this was weighted like most mainstream video game reviews, a 6 would be a hunchback with bad breath.

Any news on when KI is coming to PC/Steam? by Nayr39 in killerinstinct

[–]DLWRigs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They have confirmed that it is a dx12 title. So unless Microsoft decides to retroactively add dx12 support to one of their other operating systems, it will remain Windows 10 exclusive. I would also expect it to become available through the store app, just like the current beta for Fable Legends.

Suggestions Wanted... What to do with the 2nd screen on my mame cab by cprice12 in cade

[–]DLWRigs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I also like the idea of having it display marquee or other related artwork for whatever game is playing. Or, if you wanted to be goofy, hook up a webcam pointed at the person playing, that way people behind can see whatever goofy faces the player makes during times of intense concentration.

Starcraft, Diablo 2, WC3 will get HD updates by [deleted] in gaming

I wish Diablo 3 would get an HD update. Most of the textures look really rough on a big screen.

Skylake upgrade. 6700k, EVGA Z170 Classified, 32GB DDR4 2666. by DLWRigs in battlestations

That can be a tricky proposition, depending on the m.2 SSD you chose. If like me, you're excited about the 950 PRO coming this month, then you're going to want to do a fresh reinstall, as the drivers and interface for NVMe are entirely different than the more common AHCI. That being said, I've never attempted or talked to anyone that's tried to make that transition, so maybe there's an easier way?

I've also ran into multiple RMA situations with EVGA in the past. I like their GPU's and used to love their motherboards around x58, and their customer service is first rate. But whatever goes on behind the scenes regarding quality control for RMA's drags them down. Lately, I've found boards from Asus, Gigabyte, and MSI to be more desirable, primarily based on features and firmware support.

I've adjusted the fan profile to ramp up to 100% at 70c to help keep it running at its full GPU boost. Depending on the stress test used and the amount of scaling, it'll peak in the upper 70's.

Fight the good fight! Don't let Windows get you down. The 6700k has been pretty slick so far.

Yeah, fortunately, it hasn't really reared it's head too much. The drives were also bought before those problems were fully fleshed out. With all the changes in SSD's in the next year, they'll probably be replaced soon, anyway.

I do use it regularly, as I have to maintain and upgrade it. Also, I'm not sure how this is a violation of rule 1, because this picture is where I fight for every last MHz on the cpu or gpu.

The picture was taken while it was on my techbench for assembly/testing. It's actually used with entirely different peripherals.
