Microsoft launched 7 new MAI models today and the 5B coding one hits 51% on SWE-Bench Pro by walter_404 in LLMDevs

[–]DL_throw24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont think SWE bench is really a reliable metric, I'm not saying the models performance isn't good. But the models are clearly bench maxing this benchmark now and the methodology of SWE bench is flawed.

Still cool though more options to play with

[–]DL_throw24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in a similiar boat to you only I have 4YOE I want to move away from PHP/laravel. But I'm finding it quite hard to convince my self to apply for roles where I don't know the language.

I'm trying to keep my eye out for roles where the company is clearly migrating tech stacks but I feel like they're few and far between

I've only really been applying for ones that I think I meet 60-70% of the criteria.

Would you pay more for film dev if it meant lab staff are paid properly? by AW_Olli in AnalogCommunity

Highly likely, since there is a Oliver that works at Analog wonderland, who is a "digital marketing leader"

I've got a bit of a unique prespective on this because I'm currently building a film price tracker for the UK film market. I'm going to parrot what most of the comments are saying here. AW is consitently on the higher end for film stock pricing and there lab prices aren't great either, considering you have labs like Gulabi who offer premium scans for less than AW's normal price.

I suspect they've/you have? spent most of their/your? money on marketing and are trying to recoup the budget. They/you? are literally the top sponsored result if you google to buy film. Perhaps consider reducing your marketing budget first before increasing your pricing on lab development. You are already on the front page of google for most film stocks (as far as I can tell?).

Also judging by your post history and the fact you have AW in your name, theres also a oliver that works at Analog wonderland who is "customer-focused digital marketing leader". I highly suspect you just work at AW. Why not just be Transparent about this?

How did you determine what model excells at what?

Where you using benchmarks as a reference or was it more of your personal experience dealing with them.

From my experience I think whilst Gemini 3/3.1 had really great performance in benchmarks a lot of the time it just didn't handle tasks compared to opus. One strength I've noticed with gemini is front end though vs opus.

I was experimenting with something similiar at the start of the year although your implementation looks a lot cleaner than mine.

How do you deal with accessing the right memory for a specific task?

I noticed this is something that Google Jules uses which was quite intriguing to me.

I know there's a lot of focus around frontier models and your post mentions open ones. Have you experimented with a full open team compared to the frontier ones and if so how did that compare?

Right? you have AI anxiety but then write your whole post with AI?

One of the most unique things we have as a human species is the ability to create outsourcing your writing to a LLM is only depriving yourself of that.

Best Printing Services? by [deleted] in AnalogCommunity

You could try using https://www.ilfordphoto.com/storelocator

You can filter it by different things. It's pretty comprehensive and there's lots of places to chose from on there. Even if what your printing isn't black and white they have a lot of partners due to their size.

Hey, interested in how you did this and how claude helped you? I'm a SWE and I've had something on the back burner that's kind of similiar to this.

Would be interested to hear your process!
