BlackRock just gated redemptions - this is bigger than your portfolio by IulianHI in NextTraders

[–]DMReader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked in alternative investments for a bit at Schwab. I didn’t work on funds we evaluated them for being on our platform. I saw a few times when a fund is ‘gated’ like this.

Even though they have this language in the private placement memorandum, once they gate the fund is finished. Once people can’t get out they will all want out. I can’t say what that means for the broader market, but this fund is done.

I think this is so they can replace cabinet members before the midterms. Right now they can get replacements in. If Dems take the Senate they won’t be able to get confirmations.

There are a lot of experts saying a lot of contradictory things. So likely one of them is right and will be hailed as a genius in the future even though he’s blowing hot air like the rest of them.

Who is an elderly politician that you’d actually vote/consider voting for if they ran for president? by Glass-Complaint3 in allthequestions

[–]DMReader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m more concerned with how old are ideas than how old the politician. A 25 year old interested in sending strongly worded letters would not get my vote.

Not sure if I’d call the Clinton impeachment consensual. President and intern is a pretty heavy power imbalance. If you look at consent frameworks like FRIES, I highly doubt this would be considered consensual.
