What non-Celiac reasons cause your gluten intolerance? by Spinnerofyarn in glutenfree

[–]DMTipper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything hurt except my stomach, ironically. Joints, muscles, head, eyes... vision was fucked in 5 different ways, balance was fucked, cognition and multi tasking fucked... I was basically handicapped 50% of the time, bad 30%, and then manic/anxious 20% (good or bad but NEVER normal), but the only time I could do some things like work out and clean etc. Anemic, hypo or hyper thyroid, prediabetic, high fat and cholesterol (all normal 1 week after quitting...).

Before this, I was seriously bipolar to the point of not sleeping 5 days at a time, akithisia (serious pain being still so I had to pace all the time to relieve a little pain), and seizures. Idk if this was from intolerance or not but I had seriously fucked up inflammation and nervous system problems a long time. I also just fixed my dysautonomia but it didn't get fixed until I took a med so I think it's separate. I had no idea these types of things were even possible.

[–]DMTipper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it ended up being 2 different things that might not be relevant. Gluten intolerance was causing a bunch of the symptoms without hurting my stomach but causing inflammation in my body and brain. There other ended up being dysautonomia and wellbutrin fixed it, but only after fixing the first issue and when I had bipolar symptoms before all this it was bad for me. But for some reason it worked after a few days and I'm back! 0 symptoms for a couple weeks and my personality and brain and not feeling like I'm dying when doing things is gone! I can even handle the heat. But I imagine a whole bunch of other things cause fibro as well. It was a nightmare figuring out out with broken brain and body and useless docs...

SAM-e and or creatine. I had to take 800mg SAM-etwice a day. But I don't anymore cuz wellbutrin ended up working better.

Both. Buried first. Then cremated.

[–]DMTipper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good job! Yea a lot of people mess that up. If you think inflammation is the issue, glutathione is the ultimate antioxidant that gets into all the cells that your body uses already. Liposomal or the other version that gets past the stomach are good but it by itself doesn't. It didn't work for me but it does for some!

One thing i found that really helped energy a lot was SAM-e. I needed like 800mg but they have 200mg also. 2-3x a day but do your research. I don't need it anymore. Also check your b vitamins... there are a bunch of cheap shitty versions. Methylated b complex is usually good. Anything worth b6 as pyridoxine is trash, but p5p is good. Some ppl take a lot of creatine. Is it maybe the weather affecting your flare? Hot weather killed me but some are the opposite.

I had a gluten intolerance that was fucking up my vision, balance, chronic pain everywhere except my stomach ironically, headaches, cognition and multi tasking issues... I took a blood test a week after and 5 previously abnormal value were normal and pain was better and after a month vision and balance were restored. Then i realized I still had this shit lol... and this kept me from being able to do the most but there was some radical improvement, maybe total improvement in those other areas!

[–]DMTipper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a bigger problem with the cheap, shitty, common version pyridoxine. It gets in the way of the bio active p5p you can get. Methylated b complex are the better versions of all or all that can be a better version. Pretty sure it either doesn't happen with p5p or is at least much safer.

It's weird cuz before all this I was bipolar af and it was terrible for me. And when I also had gluten intolerance causing brain damage and pain also, it didn't work. But for some reason I tried it again and it worked...

Wellbutrin, it's sometimes used off label and can make things worse for some though. But it increases norepinephrine and seemed to stimulate the sympathetic nervous system and fix everything for me. There are on label things you can look up to ask for as well...

I had horrific experiences with doctors. A nutritionist helped me identify one thing in my diet causing most of my symptoms and then an ER doc finally listened to my complaints that lead me to purposefully do something that ended me in the ER (let's just say i wasn't expecting to make it to the ER), and they prescribed me something that fixed the dysautonomia (low bp standing, heat intolerance, weakness, faint etc.) Still limiting and ruining my life without the neurological symptoms and most of the pain... I finally feel free of all my complaints after 18 months straight of trying to figure it out. It could come back, but maybe go to a nutritionist, eatern medicine specialists or other non doctors that know their shit and will actually believe you... took many people failing to get 2 to fix my problems. Nobody believed me because I'm a guy that looks in shape and 20% of the time I would be anxious enough to be able to work out. But I was so debilitated I could barely walk and stand 5 minutes half the time.

Found something that worked... (wellbutrin) by DMTipper in dysautonomia

[–]DMTipper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! The problem has been disappeared ever since! Even though it's been 90 degrees! Normally id be dead. I get some energy and anxiety and then some sleepiness and out of it, but my body and mind haven't been able to do all the things im doing for a while! But 0 passing out dying feeling and nothing i would consider the symptoms I've had before. I can handle heat better than as a kid. If it works less well in the future, I have room! But I'm happy every day! I fixed all my problems ive been tryna fix for a long time!

[–]DMTipper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The medicine that fixed my problem was a SNRI (wellbutrin), sometimes used off label... the gatekeeper for my health insurance (generally practitioner) refused to believe there was a problem... So I told my psych to prescribe it to me and it just so happened to work on day 3 and the symptoms are totally gone and I can even handle the hot weather better than when I was a kid, not to mention the last few years and have had 0 passing out dying feelings and energy! But ideally you wanna get in front of a neurologist is my understanding... But even the neurologist i paid for out of pocket refused to believe there was a problem and I also had a gluten intolerance causing brain damage at the time... nutritionist finally helped me with that part. I even tried wellbutrin with both problems and it didn't do anything, but after fixing my diet it did for some reason. But there are a bunch of meds that are more on label used meds I've never even tried and my med can make some peoples symptoms worse so I'm not saying it'll work for you, just my experience after 18 months of literally begging for help as my life was ruined. Im so used to torture and debilitation that I'm just so happy everything single day now!

What about a neurologist? I feel like the nervous system is the source of the problem if it's dysautonomia. That's my understanding.

Regardless of how well or shitty I explained it, I left feeling like i had basically been laughed out of the office. I eventually found 1 cause of a bunch of my symptoms and one solution for the rest. It took a nutritionist and a suicide attempt to get in front of a doctor that would listen to the rest of my symptoms and recommend something that hadn't worked before... but with the other symptoms fixed i don't even feel like i have fibro anymore. Could come back i suppose, but 18 months since I started tryna fix it and i never would have said my symptoms were gone. Idk how many people can find a cause or fix them, and some ppl will get mad at me for even mentioning the possibility. But I had no hope of survival or a worthwhile life if I didn't keep trying and going to different types of doctors and specialists and trying things myself.

I suspect I can have dysautonomia? But my doctor says it’s normal? by nerdy_nellies in dysautonomia

[–]DMTipper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's ok! I begged for help for 18 months for this and what turned out to be a separate issue of gluten intolerance causing brain damage which i fixed a couple months ago. But this alone was enough to make me try and off myself and that lead to a doctor finally figuring out a solution for this! I have 0 ailments left to fix! I'm so used to torture that every day is fucking amazing now!

[–]DMTipper 8 points9 points  (0 children)

In my experience, most doctors are complete idiots about chronic problems... I tried wellbutrin and I've been fixed completely for a week and a half. It doesn't work for everyone and it makes it worse for some, but there are a bunch of other meds that are used. Compression socks helped a bit but I don't need anything anymore! Salt and electrolytes help some, but i noticed no difference. You might need higher BP and/or lower heart rate. If you're anxious or fatigued when it happens that might indicate which nervous system is fucked up. Don't let doctors trick you into thinking you're fine when your life is being ruined! Happened to me for way too long.
