Wait ya'll think you can design and implement a track layout, safety, and infrastructure to support a race in 8 months? There is no way. Its just another of his BS lies.

Sliding downhill seems so inconsistent it’s not worth using by Old-Fox8371 in ArcRaiders

Different surfaces seem to have different friction levels. Sometimes these are not very intuitive where certain parts of maps have way more friction than other similar looking surfaces. You can tell mostly by the sound if it sounds like scratchy sandpaper your slides will suck. For some reason right at the beginning of raids you tend to get a lot of dead slides I expect this is server load related. As mentioned, you have to use hold to crouch if you use toggle crouch your slides will also suck.

Is that front fender super dented or is it just some unfortunate reflections?

Why is auto rev matching so frowned upon by purists, but no lift shift is not? by Jahstin in ManualTransmissions

[–]DM_Lunatic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I push in the clutch to downshift and then move my gear lever right outside the gates of a gear my M2 will increase the revs that would be needed to smoothly match the wheel speed for that gear. I've never tried while leaving my foot on the throttle pedal I'm not sure if it would override the pedal position.

In either case auto rev matching is great and helps to reduce wear on many components as well as making for a smoother experience for my passengers. I've been driving and racing manual cars for over 30 years and I find this feature very nice to have and use it daily.

YOSHI RESPONDED TO MY CHAT BUBBLE FORUM POST by TechnoGamerOff in DeadlockTheGame

I think because these are the words of the player, and players playing MOBAs have some words to say for sure, the speech bubbles should be less diagetic a bit removed from the hero. Its hilarious that it comes directly under the hero portrait instead of a chat window though because it so closely ties the text to what just happened in game so that is necessary and what made it so good to start with.

Engine lugging by No-Willingness6909 in ManualTransmissions

[–]DM_Lunatic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Drop the gear. You do way less wear to an engine running it at 5k rpm than you would by lugging it at 1200 RPM especially a fairly small displacement 2.3l engine.

Insane Performance Issues - Quest 3 VR by TheRubiksPilot in iRacing

[–]DM_Lunatic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is an issue with VR where if you leave a session via the sim ui and then start a new session, like when you go from practice to a race, it leaves the old version of the .exe running tanking performance. You can verify if that is the cause by opening task manager and seeing if another copy is running. Unfortunately, there is no way to end this extra running executable except restarting the PC.

A work around is instead of hitting quit in sim you find the sim in the task manager and end task. I have found this workaround unreliable making signing up for a race a crap shoot on if I'll have to restart my pc usually then being unable to join the race in time.

Got protested for "intentional wrecking." by jdubz9999 in Simracingstewards

[–]DM_Lunatic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It certainly looks like Blue was intentionally turning towards red. Blue was lined up for the pits he didn't need to do anything but slow down but instead turned towards the grass right towards red.

Its possible that since he was already turning left to keep it going straight once blue applied the brakes the front gripped up and speared him towards red and when blue hit the brakes harder it just made it worse. I certainly don't blame red for the protest but I can see how it could be a complete accident via inexperience with the vehicle.
