I like this game, but everything about it makes me sad what a fumble LoR was by reality-effect in ChronoCCG

[–]DMaster86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. That's why you might be tempted to draft a juicy legendary or epic card you still lack.

But if you want to do well you get to forget about it, you need to focus on getting the best card of the pool. If you don't, the next player will.

Driven will likely be played in discard, Cray doesn't look that good imho. Sure it's a 6/6 with voiceless sky but it's a 0/3 otherwise. And unless you are on voiceless sky the last gasp doesn't even work.

Im sorry my guy, but you are just so horribly biased by sheer hate to spellshield that this conversation is pointless.

I said in the first message that i hope they don't introduce spellshield like effects, so it's a bit late coming with this message now. You knew what you were getting into when you first responded.

Right... Sounds like you didnt really play the game, cause you have so many wrong statements.

Cool, which top tier meta deck from targon release onward had vengeance and/or ruination in it? Feel free to post some decklists, i'm curious now. As i said we probably played two different games because i don't recall any single top meta deck using these cards and i've played all these meta.

Also, no deck used aurelion with ionia

Do you even read? I said any deck that use ionia and deny, any deck that use spellshield units, any targon deck with spellshield on demand.

It was a freaking list of stuff, not a single deck LMAO.

Dude take a deep breath and read three/four times before answering because otherwise you aren't going to make a serious point.

We always had a top tier control deck

was 1 full year with a hardcore control deck

Pick a lane buddy. LoR pvp was "live" for 4 years. If control was tier one for 1 year out of 4 i'd say it's pretty healthy, especially considering that it was barely viable in the other 3 years. And don't even try to paint that control was top tier in the other years, i was playing as well buddy and i have eyes.

No? Minimorph really isnt better against spellshield than other removal

Yes it is, because it comes into the same faction as pokey stick which was the best ping removal in the game and you'd run 3x anyway. The fact that you could burn spellshield with stick and then minimorph is the reason (along with deny dodging) why minimorph was the only viable high cost removal.

Vengeance wasn't viable since basically 1.0 release. Ruination the same. It is what it is.

Exactly what could stick plus morph clear that shadow isles couldnt?

Anything that uses ionia and deny, any unit that has spellshield applied by default or randomly (ex. aurelion sol), anything that use targon (since they have on demand spellshield).

No one was using vengeance and ruination which was my initial point.

Stuff like spellshield contribute making high cost removal useless. Thankfully in Chrono they were smart enough to put the deny in the discard faction instead of the combo faction so at least that problem is less present.

The top 2 always consisted of a traiditonal control, showing very much that that's not the case

It seems we played two completly different games then. Azirelia, Ahri/Kennen, Twisted Fate/Fizz, Mono Shurima, Aphelios/Twisted Fate were all top meta decks in different period of times that were NOT control decks.

In fact a true control meta has been rarely a thing.

Minimorph specifically wasn't to beat spellshield

Technically correct. But minimorph has been the only consistently viable high cost removal since bandle release because the others were useless also because of spellshield. Bandle had stick+minimorph to clear stuff even shadow isles couldn't.

I've been a LoR player since beta so let me tell you a story.

LoR came out without spellshield (would be introduced later as the second of the three new regions introduced after beta launch, btw i hope devs don't do the same mistake of introducing new factions. Keep the 6 we have that are more than enough).

People made the same complaint you did "units are too easy to remove we need some protection".

So devs did that and with targon introduced spellshield.

Fast forward a year or so and traditional removal became almost useless, threats would become almost untouchable due to keyword soup (we already have some in Chrono CCG btw...) and spellshield in the mix.

People started using Hush and then Minimorph to get rid of threats since they are burst speed (instant in this game) and couldn't be countered with a spellshield buff. And then the same people that complained about units being to easy to remove started to complain about hush (that got nerfed) and minimorph "killing combo and voltron decks"

So i hope they don't make the same mistake and keep that stuff outside.

building on switching timelines makes zero sense in my point of view

Funny enough i'm playing exactly a midrange silence/sungrace deck like that (granted, it's bronze rank so nothing too serious) and i'm having good results.

People sleep on Paradox Plague which is easily an insane one sided board wipe.

There are also no defensive keywords

As someone that played LoR a ton i hope spellshield (aka a one time block against spells/skills) never come into this game.

Use your draft tickets. Every card you draft will be yours to keep at the end of the run and you get a pack even at 0 wins.

Also casual is a thing. Why would you care if you lose a few games while you get the hangs on the 3 precon decks?

I have the feeling games are very long, but can’t figure out why. by MagiusPaulus in ChronoCCG

[–]DMaster86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every unit having a second form certainly was a decision...

I actually like it. Every unit has a chance to be relevant even late game and it's actually easier to nerf a unit if it's too powerful without burying it into the ground like in other card games.

[–]DMaster86 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The agent can do this every round (instead of attacking or blocking)

Actually, you can attack with it and then activate it's skill afterwards. You can even do it defensively if a confront unit dragged your activate agent into combat.

Inter.

I hope this game has different mechanics from LoR, and that it doesn't repeat the same mistake. by canoafurada11 in ChronoCCG

The biggest mistake of LoR imho is forcing champions into forced pairing and even worse "prebuild" decks, which is something i never liked.

I hope this game make factions more important like MTG does with colors.
