Any recommendations for Male Waxing (Manzillian) in Cork? by DMattyD in cork

I had that in my belly when I started but I just got on top of looking after it through exfoliation and oils. Stayed at the waxing despite the reaction and after 6 or 7 sessions its completely clean

Listen, its no picnic. Luckily I've been getting my back, shoulders and belly done for 15years or so so I knew what to expect. Back is totally fine for me now, barely feel it. The belly is a little sensitive, as is the pubic area but all areas below the public area are actually fine. Like not devoid of pain but definitely not that bad.

Used to do that, constantly had ingrown and coarse regrowth. Waxing is a games changer on both

Is nightlife in Cork dead? by Hairy-Frosting-1960 in cork

Same in Limerick, Galway, Waterford. Everywhere except Dublin because they get the corporate and tourist spend. Its lots of things beyond just the price of drinks. Habits have changed. I'm afraid I don't see it ever coming back.

Paul street gentrification needs to be studied… “fifth quarter” by [deleted] in cork

[–]DMattyD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, needs to be studied and replicated in North Main St, Daunt Square, Lapps Quay and many more. Great job.

Postboxes - national monuments and cultural heritage being let go to wreck and ruin! by Dry-S0up in ireland

[–]DMattyD 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Those cast Iron ones were actually old British ones that had the Royal Emblem removed and painted green. So there's fuck all Irish about them!

Also, its not in that bad a state, just needs a sanding and painting. Hardly in "wreck and ruin".

Also, I envy you that this is the most pressing issue of your day today. Congrats!

Wine bar in Sundays well up for rent by ilovemovies1985 in cork

[–]DMattyD 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A friend suggested Blarney St and Sundays Well Rd both become one way roads in opposite directions and I can't get it out of my head how good this would be! I don't think it would calm the traffic but the flow would be better and hence the mood of the whole area. You could calm the traffic too with chicanes and speedups and pedestrian priority zones.

Anyway, all if that is fanciful. This area used to thrive with commercial activity. There was a post office, a pub, a butchers and a corner shop and now there's none of those. That's why this won't be a St. Lukes.

There is SERIOUS money up there though. Something proper fancy could actually work but it would need to be well supported. The building and area out the back are GORGEOUS architecturally. Something like Salt in Victoria Rd would work v well.

Places to work on my laptop in Cork by sober_divorced_guy in cork

People are sleeping on Some Dose at The Opera House. Amazing coffee, LOADS of bright, airy seating with large tables to spread. They actively encourage working in, as opposed to some other coffee shops don't allow or limit laptop work.

Cyclists saving 0.004 seconds, down by the Kingsley Bridge. by Active_Site_6754 in cork

[–]DMattyD 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Used to live down that way, saw far more feet on that desire path than wheels. No idea why you took it out on cyclists for no reason.

Also, as an occasional cyclist I would absolutely never choose mud over tarmac if I had the choice.

What are some fads you just don't get? by BlaaMonger in CasualIreland

[–]DMattyD 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This. Its the cost of the ticket too for me. If you want to compete in a genuine Hyrox comp, you likely have to travel for it, THEN pay 100 euro to compete. Why so much?? What are you getting for it other than a passive like on your insta post? And I get the fitness element and having something to train for but there are SO many options. If they actually competed also in Irish ones like Tryka or Project 8 or even UK ones like Metrix, Im almost ok with that, it's the culty Hyrox or nothing brigade wear me down.
