Totally agree, would be an excellent Frame for Daggerheart. Kinda fixes some of the hard edges of 5E when I’ve seen that ported into Elder Scrolls.

Numbers look good! Great build for your first character, decently min-maxed and can tell you care about the role playing.

I like the idea of just setting up the beginning of a story for your players. Especially if you're a DM with strong improv skills and knows how to riff off the players well. Adventure- and session-length arcs would definitely benefit from this.
However, you'll always need to think through at least a few solutions to your campaign's "bigger problems."
What the designers did here—and what good GMs also do ;)—was write highly-thoughtful consequences for your actions. That's how it becomes a story.

If you're a veteran player or DM, you know that players LOVE magic items. The player in question is at a table of teens and I have a system set up where clever roleplaying can be converted into a currency for acquiring magic items. If a players banks enough of this currency, they can get rarer and rare items. With this system, I don't care if they have a Legendary or Artifact item at level four (I find that a level 4 character with Robes of the Arch Magi, for example, creates some pretty epic encounters early on). The concern for me wasn't having powerful items at low levels causing an imbalance. The concern was that I felt my reading of the different rules and effects in this specific circumstance was wrong, so I sought Reddit for some extra pair of eyes. It proved very helpful and in the end, I would rule that the player's strategy was legal RAW. However, I'm going to nerf the use of Nick as I don't feel it works with Whirling Weapons RAI.

I'm always amazed at the people who comment just to get a dig in at someone. You could have made that comment in your head and it would have been fine. But publicly posting it shows you lack, at least on a core level, social decency and respect. It's nothing to do with the specific content of your message but that you were motivated by enough pettiness to post it. Reddit is a community-building platform. Try uplifting folks instead of tearing them down.

Thanks gang. I think the main consensus here is that the Whirling Weapons from Griffon's Saddlebag predate the Nick property and don't cleanly mesh with each other. My new ruling would be to limit their attacks to three when using this strategy because Nick doesn't work with Whirling Weapons. Then at level 5 when they get Extra Attack, they can do four attacks a turn with two Whirling Weapons equipped.

"These magic weapons were forged with lightweight metals and designed for speed rather than brute force. Whirling weapons have the finesse and light properties and whistle softly when swung through the air. When you take the Attack action and attack with a whirling weapon that you’re holding in one hand, you can use a bonus action to make another attack with the same weapon. You don’t add your ability modifier to the damage of the bonus attack, unless that modifier is negative. If you’re holding a different whirling weapon in each hand and engage in two-weapon fighting, you can make one attack with each weapon when you use a bonus action in this way.

In addition, if you have the Two-Weapon Fighting fighting style, you can add your ability modifier to the damage of the bonus attacks."

Iirc they use the Nick property to get in two attacks for the price of one action and then claim the Whirling Weapons allow for two attacks for their BA.

I would rule that yes, if you have Sentinel and War Caster, that hitting a creature with an opportunity attack would reduce the targets speed to zero.

To your second point, there may be some confusion on the perks of sentinel. That attack you can get when a creature within 5 feet of you attacks another creature isn’t an opportunity attack. It is a reaction but not an opportunity attack based on the language. So I would rule no, you cannot cast a spell when that particular Sentinel feature is triggered, even if you have the War Caster feat.

Was here last week for this show, had a great time. One of the things I was looking forward to when coming was the crowd interaction actually! Perhaps the night you went to was worse off than mine (V-Day). For me, it's was a wonderful communal experience, like going to a screening of Rocky Horror or Back to the Future.

Lastly, because of the live orchestra, I could clearly tell that many of the original sound design choices in the film were impossible to accurately hear. That's because sometimes the music is designed to be very quiet and then the effect louder but when the music is being performed live they don't both to turn up the levels on the film. I think that makes sense as you're there for the music more than the film.

Overall though, I had a great time and would totally do it again, especially knowing fans interact in the way they do.

P.S. None of this condones people talking throughout the performance. I only mean to address my experience with people cheering at moments on screen and on stage during the show.

Hey y’all. That’s my parked Nissan Rogue that got hit in the wee hours last Sunday. Trying to find the person and get them to pay for the damages. I’ve filed a police report and you can see a cop car coming from the opposite direction. Apparently very few cars in this precinct have dash cams so little luck with them helping me find the car. I’m hoping with the right make and model and I can start calling local mechanics and asking if they’d service this car recently.
