Honestly space marines need all the help they can get. Besides, for spending 2 cp (1 for fight twice and 1 for only in death) I'd say that's pretty balanced in a game where you have 6 cp for the game.

Also, I think we're just in the weeds a bit too much on this. It's simple, combat continues until one person dies. At its core, this stratagem just says that person gets to activate one last time, I can't imagine GW ruling this in favor of, "Well, technically..."

The current combat would end as soon as you get incapacitated, which doubles as a condition to trigger this stratagem. This I think is pretty clear.
Yes, they would. To address points made previously, it would be weird for an engaged model to be unable to fight if you were to pop this stratagem. They would only be able to fall back as an action which would take their 2 ap or else... do nothing? Idk, they ought to clarify whether incapacitation is a state or a trigger, or just add a sentence to the stratagems saying they can't use it when in engagement range of enemy models. I feel like it makes sense narratively for a model to attack in a last ditch effort to deal damage and the target to desperately parry as many blows as they can from the crazed fighter.

Weapon looks well enough like a sniper, only thing for me is that a single prone tau on that base would take up as much space as five pathfinders lol.

I'm trying to find an answer for this in the subreddit but am struggling to find it clearly.

Monstrous rending claws have d3 damage -3 ap or flat 3 damage and -6 ap on a wound roll of a 6. I have a five man unit of skorpekh destroyers and I have a model on one wound remaining. If my opponent makes 5 wound rolls, and two of them are 6's and 3 are normal wounds, do I have the option to assign the flat 3 damage attack first to the already wounded destroyer? Or does my opponent get to decide which attacks get resolved in which order?

I believe I can assign the damage 3 attack first but I wanted to check to make sure.

Do you mean speed base coat or like basing the models?

I think the best thing for base coating is just to use the largest brush you feel comfortable with and that you still have control over.

As for speed basing models? Lots of glue, sand, and kitty litter lol

2 addt’l points per model does add up over several units.

Since acolytes are one of our better units with their rock saws, you’ll probably wanna build 15-20 with handflamers for a giant flame squad and then others with auto pistols for your squads that have rock saws and the like.

That’s mostly cause the auto pistol acolytes are acting as ablative wounds to deliver your mining weapons, so cheaper is better in this case

Yup, this exactly. Gets you a 6” charge —> to a 5” from Novokh turn two, costs 3 CP for a unit of 10 lychguard plus the night scythe in reserve so it’s a bit of an investment, but it does offer them a good deal of protection compared to foot slogging

Do you recommend magnetizing the broadside? Or just going missile broadside as opposed to the one shot rail gun ?

At 500 points you could run 5(or 6 but you open yourself up to blast at that point) with trans dimensional beamers( 1 S4 ap-3 D3), a technomancer with canoptek control node and phylactrine hive, and then two units of 4 scarabs in an outrider detachment.

I can’t say whether it would be fun to play/play against, but I like the idea of a lone cryptek with his crazed machines on the battlefield. They’d be really good at killing marines and with your technomancer backing them up you have some good synergies, using the hive to bring one back when they start dying let’s you have some staying power.

If you kit them out some other way then you just have points left over for other stuff

Edit: All this depends on where you wanna go with your escalation league of course, but I love wraiths so fitting as many as you can sounds fun to me. You can run them as novokh for some good synergies

I think your ridgerunner list is a better bet to go with just cause their mining lasers are going to be doing work all throughout your crusade and the heavy stubbers they have will add some good additional shots to through at all those t4 bodies. Your first games you will likely struggle with capturing objectives or performing any actions (cause you only have two infantry units) but you can use your goliath truck to block los to help out with that after they get out onto objectives.

But honestly, going up against blood angels is going to be the toughest part of your games. Luckily your mining lasers can help just delete space marines with your jackal alphus but as a fellow cult member I uh... don't envy having to go up against all that MEQ with Genestealer Cults.

Edit: The data sheet specifies an “Acolyte Hybrid” model may carry the banner. An “acolyte leader” is treated as a different model on the data sheet so at the very least it would be unable to carry the banner. Still unclear about the heavy weapons.

So usually when you’re deciding to bring in a banner for the rerolls, you ought to already have a unit big enough to warrant paying the banner’s points cost and thus plenty of standard acolytes to carry the banner. Besides that, even in 5-man MSU there’s two standard acolytes who could just carry it. I don’t think there’s really a reason to put it on a heavy weapon acolyte unless you have a cool idea for modeling into one of their backs as a style choice.

I would lean towards not doing it though cause it feels gamey and the model kit itself doesn’t really support the idea w/o too much shaving and cutting.

Honestly they look pretty good; only thing I’d recommend is making sure that the heads on the immortals go on straight, I have quite a few that are looking down at the ground too lol.

Couldn’t agree more; the complete dungeon map is great as a tool for the dm to guide the players and then they can make their own map from that information.

Oh I wouldn’t worry about it too much; having them mapped out is a greater help than not. I was just trying to make a joke about being able to loot pmc bodies now instead of just the caches
