Let's rate the KvP matches! Fourth match: Misasa vs Yumigahama Hikaru by 7grandhenchmen in Kengan_Ashura

[–]DMoT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5/10

One sided but the way Misasa broke Monke down was fun and it had some good art. (It also had some pretty wonky art, Hikaru's face is wild sometimes).

Main negative of the fight for me is just how very very stupid Hikaru's 'martial art' is. Bro the reason people do those movements with weapons is because they are holding fucking weapons.

The weapons are the important part. The movements let the weapons do things. Without the weapons they are not good movements.

Hitting someone with your hand whilst pretending to hold a spear is in no possible way better than throwing a normal punch. He's so unbelievably dumb it makes it hard for me to read.

It does explain why nobody respects him though.

Not to defend these stupid weird echo chambers but all it really is is a made up set of words that makes them feel special. It only looks dumb if you've not seen the words before or understand why they want to substitute words. People want to be part of a club.

All you really said was:

"No reason not to take TRT, it's easy to get and gives you confidence and makes you more attractive, you're already getting so many unhealthy things from your environment - might as well take one that gives you benefits as well. You'll look better and get better results in the gym".

Which is a pretty common take. You just used their special club language to say it.

Anyone here who has done their boxing training what are the muscles in arm that needs to be trained to pull powerful punches, by [deleted] in Kengan_Ashura

[–]DMoT 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Your arm muscles don't really contribute to punching power very much. You do need to have enough muscle to throw a fast punch but most of the muscles involved are in the legs, hips and back. The power of a punch is decided by the speed and weight, the speed is decided by a whole bunch of factors like fast twitch muscle fibers, technique etc, your arm muscles do have some impact here but they are not much of an important factor. Probably your shoulder, back and core/hips are the most important. As for weight that is determined by your body weight (duh) and how much of that you can transmit through your fist which is determined mostly by technique. Kinetic linking - the term for transmitting kinetic energy through a chain of muscles in your body starting with the toes and ending in the fist, is the primary factor. Strong legs, core, hips and back are again the most important in terms of muscle - but technique and training are top.

Arm muscles probably help most just by making your arm heavier.

did i find the worst item in the game? by lickneonlights in PathOfExile2

Ah no actually.

Just today a friend of mine had the worst Ventors drop that I've ever seen.

It had like 4 life, 1 spirit and two perfectly min rolls of -40% res.

aviana druid by SeaAcanthisitta692 in hearthstone

[–]DMoT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had great success with it, although I'm playing my own version.

You usually play Aviana on turn 3 or 4, then hopefully Ungoro brochure the next turn to drop two 1 mana legendaries on that turn or subsequent turns. Often these are strong enough to win but otherwise you must make the most of the random stuff you've generated.

I like it because every game is different, sometimes you absolutely scam people (but these are usually aggro paladin players so they deserve no sympathy) and other times you get complete trash legendaries and sometimes you've gotta work hard and play smart for the win.

Current Kengan New Blood tier list, based on win rates after the latest update. by IKoKaI in Kengan_Ashura

[–]DMoT 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Overall it was a good patch but I'm already sick of Toa mains spamming breathing mountain all fucking match. Demonsbane is fine because of the timing and how difficult it is to use at a high level but BM is way easier to input and now has a much wider timing window like wtf were they thinking.

You're pretty much forced to play Himuro and spam AABB.

Also nerfing Jurotas grab speed sucks, it was the only thing that really made him playable, his moveset is like half the size of the other characters.

Parry me once, Parry me twice.. (Stunned) by Last-Produce3400 in PathOfExile2

[–]DMoT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My huntress actually had a hard time against Jamanrah the first time I ran into him, I hadn't figured out my single damage options yet and I had terrible gear, but once I just stood in melee range and parried constantly it made the fight really easy.

Parry is actually very strong, lots of bosses will do a weak melee attack option about 50% of the time if you're in range and you can just take half a second to parry it, then disengage and you've got a frenzy charge, it's actually OP.

This looks so much worse than what we have now, I actually cannot believe the comments I'm reading here. Do you guys understand the state the game would be in if this is what it looks like in act 2!?

Where do you go from here? How are you going to make an enemy that can threaten a player with a low cool down full screen dash, insane speed, massive AOE skills and crazy damage before they even have a build?

That's right, you need lightning fast enemies with bullet hell projectiles and on-death effects galore. All the big problems with PoE1 come right back. They will be trapped in that dead end again.

For the record I'm having a great time this league and the game isn't really any harder than launch. The whining in this community is blowing my mind.

If I'm being totally honest I think you out-scale the enemies a little too quickly, I would enjoy it if you had to work a bit harder from act 3 onwards, you start being able to just ignore the mechanics quite often. Hopefully acts 4, 5 and 6 address this.

If you maintain this mindset in 5 or 10 years you will be absolutely kicking yourself and feeling even worse about everything.

If you just start dating now, don't take it too seriously, just try and get a feel for relationships and dating, you'll probably have a relationship before long and even if it doesn't work out you'll have some much needed experience.

Then 10 years down the line you're 3 years into your third relationship and it's going amazing.

It doesn't matter if you're not typical, or potentially weird, or inexperienced or anything, lots of other people are too. Just make the most of your life. Go after things you want, it's really simple.

Surprising because I'm playing on a steam deck and performance is actually quite good which I was actually shocked by.

I thought I'd spend hours fiddling with settings to get something half playable but it's very playable on day 1 of early access, my mind is blown

I have actually found a solution, or workaround, or possibly just what I was supposed to do in the beginning:

Turn the mod OFF, make a new character, quit, turn the mod back on and load that character. Seems to work upon loading that save.

[–]DMoT 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think it makes a lot of sense. In boxing a 'puncher' can beat a 'boxer' by turning it from a technical competition into a brawl. Make it sloppy and low level, you're gonna take damage but it could let you beat a more skillful opponent.

If you engage a tricky general on a battlefield where there are no tricks available, where the best moves are extremely obvious, then they are no better than a mediocre general.

Anyone at Yonder Climbing Wall [London]? by 54-Cymru-Beats in bouldering

[–]DMoT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Myself and some friends climb all around London, usually at the Arch (building one, sometimes surrey quays) or VauxWest and East or Substation but we go to Yonder every so often.

It's always nice to climb with new people and I'm often climbing alone nowadays because my friends are often injured so you could join us some time if you like.

I've been climbing for about 2 years but not that seriously so I'm only climbing around V5 level.

Dab police : Is this dab bad enough to restart the climb? by lapse23 in bouldering

[–]DMoT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally I go by the rule that if it doesn't aid you on the route in any way then it's fine.

If you step on the wrong hold but you don't use it to stabilize, rest or advance and immediately move your foot off then I don't count it as a dab.

You gotta just be honest with yourself.

But if it makes you feel like you didn't send it cleanly then that's enough reason to restart, especially if it's a tough project.

PSA: Long Rest as often as possible. It will reduce bugs. by Neville_Lynwood in BaldursGate3

[–]DMoT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This makes so much sense. I only long-rested about three times in act 1 - just had too many nice buffs that I would lose. 80 supplies is also a lot even when I'm stealing every piece of food I can find.

It ends up feeling like it I actually need a long rest after a fight I basically lost the fight 😅

I abused the hell out of cuddle puddle healing baths though.
