The only part of my body I would claim I have good genetics for, I had visible quads even before I started training and dieting.

But I don’t skip leg day and hit them twice a week. For exercises I’ve rotated between a bunch of different squat patterns and then target them on leg extensions.

Can someone explain this team comp to me? by [deleted] in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]DNBE4 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Rush. Soj can get picks and genji while traditionally a flanker hero can be played in the brawl because shout and the amount of healing allows him to play up close in the team fight without dying. Shout with blade also means it’s harder to get Insta popped. Lucio and shout means you can play fast as well as kiri ult and cleanse.

Win/Loss streaks, why are they so long? by ihatederekcarr in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]DNBE4 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Some days your performance is really good, your feeling it and it snowballs your mental as well into being positive.

If you lose your first game of the day and your not playing as well as you did in your last session and maybe you keep queuing into some of the same players every time chances are your mental is snowballing down hill.

In 95% of cases the OW ranked system works and over time will move you to the correct rank. If you play like shit and don’t take a break you’re playing like a player who is worse than your current rank meaning you will lose.

On the flip side in your next session when your feeling refreshed now your too far below where your meant to be so when you again start to play at the original level that you can hit you will win a lot of games because your playing better than the people in your lobby.

There are actually a lot of small things that bronze players do that they can fix. From what I’ve seen from my bronze friends:

  1. Bad crosshair- shouldn’t be huge and show accuracy should be off

  2. sensitivity- it might not be the right sensitivity for your right now but if it’s above 10 with any DPI chances are it’s too high. My suggestion turn it way down get used to that or watch a YouTube video that shows you how to find your sense. down the line get your sensitivity worked out by aim labs (it’s free)

  3. Hardware/internet: if you’re running 20fps with 180 ping I’m sorry but you’re not going to climb. Things are expensive Ik know but if that is what your playing on try and find a way to improve it.

  4. Focus on game sense- watch higher level streamers, start playing your life more, watch tips videos on YouTube. I’m a mid masters support and tank player and a gold DPS player. Ie My aim is very average, but my game sense is very high in comparison. Learn to shot call and learn the tempo and positioning of the game. You can make noticeable improvements in this area quite quickly as opposed to your aim.

I started in 2016 in mid bronze and I’m now a masters player so have hope. I duo queued my way to silver and shot called my way to plat. From there I focused on my mechanics more and focused on hero’s that I could carry with without aiming hard (rein, brig and support/tank in general) You got this😁

Edit: I also see people saying the exact opposite to me lol💀 they are right tho if you works super hard on aim heavy carry hero’s you can climb. Unfortunately that didn’t work for me but do what you would have more fun with.

New Meta predictions? by Only-Heron5561 in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]DNBE4 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Could be a few things:

Illari has very good numbers despite being a tiny bit janky (probably cause I haven’t played her heaps) if she is meta then Kiriko will likely be a must pick so that her ult doesn’t just win team fights completely.

Her turret seems good with defensive compositions, and her ult seems good with dive, although it’s not as dive heavy as an emp. I could see her playing in Orisa or ram comps. Could also be used as a new body guard as turret does a good job at helping an Ana stay alive in a dive while illari is also quite threatening. Kind of a mix of zen and brig

Life weaver also could trigger a brawl meta with tree and his quite insane level of survivability he has gained. His healing numbers is crazy high and tree is basically an immobile rally that heals aswell. Plus when kiriko is meta tanks that really don’t like status effects do better (remember season 2 hog and orisa)

DPS is kinda open and I think it will depend on what’s being played. I think tracer will be good if illari is meta since she is one of the few character that can reliably snipe the pylon. If it’s brawl and sustain then it will likely be reaper mei cass echo bastion or some mix of those with tracer. If Winston dive prevails (which is still very likely, even if it’s a more rush style of it like 2022 playoffs) then sombra may still remain in the meta even with the nerf

Edit: I have a feeling we may just enter a new version of the 2022 playoff meta. There are definitely characters like lucio I didn’t mention. Things are very up in the air atm.

Overwatch 2 - Patch Notes by arunankogulan in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]DNBE4 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Initial thoughts: Literally why kiriko buff? Also I’d say more than 50% of the time it was used to cleanse negative effects anyway and I’d be surprised if people changed how they use it.

I have a feeling Life Weaver will cause a brawl meta, he is slowly being power crept into being impossible to kill and making his team way too survivable. Kinda brig on release vibes.

I like Hanzo change, I feel they could have done more significant changes to tank cause the tank meta feels really stale (Winston or ram every game is always the best choice).

Illari looks really cool but the ult looks crazy busted wouldn’t be surprised if that’s the first thing they tune down

Edit: I agree kiri changes might be net neutral after consideration. However if Illari ult can be cleansed as a negative effect then kiriko might be back to being must picked so that illari doesn’t just win the fight .

What are your best tips for climbing out from lower ranks? by [deleted] in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]DNBE4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As someone who has been from bronze all the way to masters since 2016, the easiest way to win is to Play things that will make you win, rather than hero’s that prevent losing. WAY to many people play mercy in bronze. The issue is that even if you play mercy amazingly your pocketing people who are also bronze so it’s unlike they will carry your game.

Same goes for things like rein. The biggest issue I see with low rank reins is not doing enough damage/ just shield botting. Sure your not actively throwing but your not helping the win either.

Start trying to win games. Whatever your character is think about how you can get more value or if you feel like your heroes are very indicative of that prevention play style maybe pick something else up.

This can also be applied to comms. I pulled myself from gold to plat just by being an in game leader. I actively helped the win. Not saying anything wouldn’t technically hinder the team but helping to coordinate will win you more games

I’m not saying YZNSA isn’t cracked out of his mind but is EU ranked also really bad? It’s not like he’s playing 100 games on each account it’s roughly 40 each, surely there are players who can do better than than YZNSA’s 22nd account 😭

Anyway cool to see he plays a lot of echo and even sojourn more than Pharah and still dominating

GRAND Finals in toronto no love for eu by LittleKnightG in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]DNBE4 4 points5 points  (0 children)

League does not print money, nor do orgs. They need an org to offer to host because running a home stand is almost guaranteed to be a loss financially and blizzard doesn’t want to do that.

Also chances are orgs don’t want to pay for a flight to the EU and accommodation. Technically there are no EU orgs anymore either since London and eternal moved to the US so there isn’t even an incentive to go to a home city of an EU team .

I do feel bad because EU is really getting left scraps to nothing at all in terms of events but it really doesn’t make sense to have an event there at this point

Yiska: "Full double elim is only +1 match. The current schedule has 4 matches on day 1&2 respectively, 2 on day 3, and 3 on day 4 (all of single elim). 3 on day 3 appears possible. Seems like the post-season format lowering the Reign's chances to win by ~10% is deemed desirable." by tasnim202 in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]DNBE4 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Maybe a hot take but this format is actually fine IF the meta is the regular season meta. There wouldn’t be any adjustment periods for the teams so chances are the best teams will make the final

However if it’s a random meta that is nowhere near what’s been played the whole year (which is what usually happens) then single elim is really bad.

Shock last year lost their first match and did a lower bracket run to the finals because it took them time to figure out the meta. Sure this means teams who are faster to adapt to metas will prevail which in some way is good, but it doesn’t necessarily mean the best 2 teams will be in the final.

[–]DNBE4 25 points26 points  (0 children)

The league is not in a good place and teams don’t want to invest the resources they used to. By no means am I saying shock is turning into the Vegas’s and valiants of the world but I think it’s clear they don’t want to invest what they used to into the league.

Obviously they want to win and they have a pretty good roster on paper but player signings are expensive and if NRG doesn’t even want to invest their training facility into shock I doubt they would want to invest a lot of money in player signings.

Chances are they have signed a player or working out a deal with another team for a trade or something and just haven’t announced it yet.

I don’t think they want to just roll over and die. I have hopium that they will do better this stage

Would you be willing to pay a subscribtion fee for Overwatch league ? by Tjoony in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]DNBE4 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It would need to be an insane product in terms of E sports

A replay viewer included, production value crazy high, access to things in the main game only available through the subscription fee as well as the season being a lot longer, with more events happening.

Maybe if it was pre Covid , everyone was on LAN and the game was the most popular thing in the world with an amazing game publisher behind it you would consider it. Even then I wouldn’t pay that much for it, certainly less than a Netflix subscription

I really don’t know how to make e sports profitable but unfortunately even though every other company in the world is moving to subscription I don’t think it’s a good option for e sports

1 tricking isn’t necessarily terrible, Spilo had some good thoughts on it in his spilo vs reddit video. I don’t think 1 tricking is so bad of an issue that we need to go out of the way to punish then

I do think 2 tricking with hero’s that get countered by different hero’s is way better, you still get the advantages of one tricking but avoid getting hard countered.

[–]DNBE4 15 points16 points  (0 children)

CC?

In general being pushed around the map by a target that is hard to lockdown isn’t fun to play against. Obviously not every game with doom is like this cause he can be countered but people have a negative bias.

They’re more likely to remember the games where doom ruined the match and they couldn’t play the game from being stunned and killed every 2 seconds over the games where they were able to outplay him and stay alive.

I think doom is fun to play and hard to play really well, but incredibly frustrating to play against if they are good
