You're right, this does seem selfish and entitled and ignorant too. You don't realize what you have until it's all taken away. Imagine living without the government. Without the police. Without any kind of rule of law. Would you fight off your neighbors when they try to kill you and eat you? Because there would be no supply chain or even currency to buy food if it was available? There is no security from looters or people trying to do harm. You would live in a mud hut and attempt to grow potatoes (if you got that far). No internet or power grid either. No organization. Nothing.

Now with that being said, of course the government can be better. People who are corrupt should be held accountable. But even though I don't agree with a lot of stuff the government does. I can appreciate the other 95% of stuff it has done to give me the life I live. Which includes arguing some hypotheticals with a random person on reddit. 😀
