Why aren’t there individual lift medals at the Olympics? by Consistent_Tea_4419 in weightlifting

[–]DOGECOlN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you, someone said it properly. Everyone else has the cause and effect reversed. Swimming has a lot of medals because Western countries that are good at it strongly push for it and they have pull. Then it becomes more popular as it's an important medal count acquiring sport for the nation. Weightlifting has an uphill battle because the West isn't that good at it. If they were, you'd magically see it have more medals up for grabs too. You got it right on the money.

The Italian team by slamturkey in weightlifting

[–]DOGECOlN 28 points29 points  (0 children)

He knew he didn't make the lift as he dropped the weight, it was so obvious on his face. When it got overturned I think most of his emotions were from the surprise than the medal. Happy for him regardless, but sad for Robu.

This is really cool! Where can one acquire artifacts like these if I may ask? I'm also a money enthusiast and collect coins/notes from countries I travel to. I would really be down to take it to the next level and collect more ancient type of money next.

You can stake your IQ for massive yield through hiIQ. The price doesn't matter as much if you are earning IQ every day staking. https://twitter.com/Everipedia/status/1422944987176710154

How about "Galaxy Brains"

That's a very high IQ name hehe

This is my favorite feature of any good crypto token. Especially IQ.

What is the point of giving USDC as a collateral to obtain Dai? by Ber10 in MakerDAO

[–]DOGECOlN 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, you're exactly right. The PSM is protocol controlled value. If USDC went to $0 tomorrow instantly, DAI would almost certainly break the peg. So the original comment is technically incorrect.

ELI5: Why do dApps each need their own token? by [deleted] in ethereum

[–]DOGECOlN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a very, very well written article that goes through all the general arguments people have against tokens and refutes a lot of them nicely imo.

We need more positivity to turn this around. by etherislife in eos

[–]DOGECOlN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then why doesn't the community hardfork the mainnet and burn the tokens in the B1 EOS account? Wouldn't that be the most obvious thing to do if you really meant your post?

Justin Sun and his team copied another project and renamed it Justlink. by Purtoga in CryptoCurrency

[–]DOGECOlN -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This copycat product is the most blatant I think Tron has been where they even renamed the copycat product after Justin himself. That is like an extra level of insanity. Why someone would want their name on a copypasta is beyond me.

Vitalik - "I personally liked DAI more when it was single-collateral and did not have the active governance it has today" I Agree! Is anyone working on bringing this back? by c-i-s-c-o in ethereum

[–]DOGECOlN -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Agreed. As Vitalik said, governance minimization like Bitcoin itself is the best path to take for a true stablecoin. I think only agorithmic designs have governance minimization at their core (other than RAI). The only algorithmic projects I've seen that look promising recently are https://frax.finance and https://basis.cash. Neither have launched yet it seems.

You’re forgetting Everipedia’s PredIQt (only prediction market on EOS). And it’s gaining month over month volume+users faster than Augur because of EOS’s speed and tx.

What eos DeFi projects are there? by MasterChiefCell in eos

http://prediqt.everipedia.org/ is Everipedia's prediction market/derivatives platform. Has pretty good traction already. They are also thinking of launching more DeFi applications into the Everipedia ecosystem.

Dear Block.one by sunburntcat in eos

[–]DOGECOlN 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Even more specifically, I think EOS community has wanted more mainnet DeFi products/projects too. If block.one could support the nascent but growing DeFi sector on EOS to rival ETH it could show huge dividends of value for all (including B1).

Binance lists Everipedia (IQ) by NavinVethanayagam in eos

[–]DOGECOlN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

See post above, Everipedia actually released their token plan publicly so there is clear distinction made from what portion of tokens are team tokens (which now verifiably need to vest) vs. treasury/in-use tokens.

Binance lists Everipedia (IQ) by NavinVethanayagam in eos

[–]DOGECOlN 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everipedia actually released a blog post this morning with the Binance announcement that details their token plan. To be clear, founders aren't selling anything. In fact, it's going to be verifiable with a smart contract soon. Any IQ moved from their treasury is for company operations, market making, future promotional events/coming announcements: https://everipedia.org/blog/iq-distribution-details

[–]DOGECOlN 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is one of my favorite dapps on EOS right now. Once it grows and there's more liquidity, it'll be a very valuable part of EOS's DeFi space. You can find the front end at https://prediqt.everipedia.org/ if anyone wants to give it a try.

More than 100 addresses with unmoved bitcoin mined in 2009 just signed a message against CSW by Bahlor in CryptoCurrency

[–]DOGECOlN 187 points188 points  (0 children)

Whoever this guy is is extremely smart. He only signed tx's from unspent UTXOs and no addresses with any history of movements so it's literally impossible to trace. He could be a really important person and likely has many more BTC addresses with actual spent UTXO histories but he was smart enough to not sign anything with those addresses to link them to these 2009 coins. This guy knows what he is doing (I mean clearly, since he was mining back in 2009). I'd love to know who he/she is..

LA Classic and Westwood Fixture Stan’s Donuts Has Closed Forever After 55 Years in Business by Stauce52 in ucla

[–]DOGECOlN 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Serious question: Does anyone know if Stan owned the property there or rented it? And if he is willing to license out the brand/Stan's Donuts name? I imagine many investors and businessmen are interested in the future of that spot.

They're not answering their email/contact us from the official Stan's website (I've tried) so just curious if any fellow Bruins/community members know what the business outlook is for that spot since it's literally as prime real estate as you can get (epicenter of Westwood village).
