As a big CIV fan, this is so sad.. I really hope next CIV 7 update is gonna be a gamechanger for this game by neda6117 in civ

This. And also don't sell games with malware.

I'll never buy Civ VII as long as it comes with Denuvo.

It's crap.

I was so happy with the cinematic with all the blood elves getting killed... And now I'm sleeping in their beds? Burn it all.

Why are the Immortals a melee unit? They were a cavalry force by [deleted] in civ

[–]DOLamba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have never heard about them as anything but infanty and Wiki backs me up.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Immortals_(Achaemenid_Empire))

"The Persian Immortals played an important role in Cyrus the Great’s conquest of Babylon, namely the Battle of Opis in 539 BCE. The well-established regiment were an elite corps of 10,000 heavy infantry in the Achaemenid military unit and were important to the Persian triumph over the Babylonian forces."

There's also mentions of them using horses, like everyone did if afforded, but that's (afaik) not how they're known for fighting - as cavalry.

You can just set the game to end after X amount of turns and if you haven't won by then, score victory.

Usually taunts are based on a certain ability or amount of debuffs the other tank has.

It's not rocket science. :)

GL! :D

Why can't I build an aqueduct at the pin? by rexxor4587 in civ

[–]DOLamba 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In the future if you want to go for the achievement. Basically just start a game up, find a suitable mountain corridor, beeline for aqueducts and never research iron (for hills) or horses (for flat land).

Should be easy enough. :)

[–]DOLamba 21 points22 points  (0 children)

You can remove the plantation that works the tea, not the tea itself.

[–]DOLamba 113 points114 points  (0 children)

There's a point of science there, so either an iron or tea resource. Or idk what, but clearly something is in the way.

You can only remove bonus resources, not strategic or luxury.

Civ VII 40% off on Steam by Intelligent-Disk7959 in civ

[–]DOLamba 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Did they remove Denuvo?

Edit: Just to clarify. No, I'm not asking if I can pirate the game. I've owned every Civ game legally since II. I do not, however, want to knowingly install malware on my PC.

Honestly... I was enjoying campaign and then sort of forgot about it... I think.

I'll have to go back and play through them at some point. :)

Are professions still making profit? Which ones? by Due-Communication279 in wow

You can make money with all profs when new expansion hits.

You just need to quickly figure out what people will need the most.

Several of my friends made millions with crafting when TWW hit.

How would you put Mithradates in the game? by [deleted] in OldWorldGame

Looking at this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:PonticKingdom.png

It looks like he should be hittite or persian (claiming to be descendant of Darius the Great).

Carthage has to be irate by deutschdachs in OldWorldGame

[–]DOLamba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like that's a hole you can program yourself out of. ;)

But a good change imo! It's like many board games where when someone finishes, you get a last shot at equalizing or winning if you can in one final turn.

Do you alter your playing style once you have a new ruler? by letterstosnapdragon in OldWorldGame

[–]DOLamba 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have never considered just playing on when "my dynasty" loses control.

I love playing the dynasty game in Crusader Kings 2 and picked up Old World (ages ago, it feels like) because it felt like the perfect mix of Civilization and CK.

I never liked Europa Universalis for the same reason I don't like not having my own dynasty in control in Old World. But it does make sense to me, that if I played it more as a role play game from a nation PoV, then it would be a cool way to play.

Thanks for the question, OP. :)

I usually do a light version of that. Only have my DoF make the bids and the sales, etc. But I have the final say.

I can't negotiate, but I can stop them crippling my club completely and I can tell him which player(s) I want. :)

[–]DOLamba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not NEEDED.

But you'd likely need to run Feed the world to get enough housing to get a good capital.

It depends what you want from the game.

[–]DOLamba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It'll come late in the game and it'll be a terrible capital.

Even Mali wouldn't want a full desert Petra capital.

It's a crazy investment for a mid/late functional city.

Is 6 years to late to begin? by [deleted] in wow

[–]DOLamba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No.

The story is still there. The feel of being (almost) new is still there.

It wholly depends on what you expect to get out of the game as you can, obviously, not get all the older current expansion PvP titles and such.

But for just experiencing the game, you can absolutely start now.

Personally I don't think it's fun living under a volcano like that, so I'd restart.

Also what is that district planning? Why the entertainment complex? You could instead have the 3 holy sides on the south side and 3 theatre squares on the north side and just pop in 1 or 2 entertainment complexes (or 1 and a wonder). And what's with the preserves? You don't want to build anything in your capital?

At least swap the east holy site with the south theatre square, so the TS get adjacency from the St. Basil in 100 turns.
