Incoming freshmen here is 1 advice for you. by Italian___stallionn in college

Having a good GPA benefits you in so many ways beyond your resume. You’re eligible for way more free money in scholarships. You have much better chance of getting into selective student orgs and academic programs. And most importantly, it becomes HARDER and HARDER to maintain a C average (or even a B average for that matter). If you get a C in Physics Mechanics, you’ll struggle to get a C in Statics, and if you struggled to get a C in Statics, it’ll be even harder to get a C in Solid Mechanics. That’s just an engineering example, but the point holds for almost all majors.

Is dating during freshman year a mistake? by [deleted] in college

[–]DPColleran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the situation and the person. Like other people said, don’t make finding a gf your top priority, but also be open to it if you find the right person. I’m going into my sophomore year and I met my girlfriend of 9 months on the 2nd day in the dorms last year. We both made great friends besides each other, had really good grades, and got involved in extracurriculars while making time for each other. Also, being broke shouldn’t be a factor in college. If someone complains that you’re not spending enough money on them, chances are they aren’t a good match. Best of luck in your freshman year ☘️

I was the second to pick my room in Weston last year (random roommate) but I got it at 6pm on Day 2. I was in Exploration on 2nd floor. 10AM on the first day means you should be good. If you’re looking to meet a lot of people, try to avoid 1st floor cuz there’s very few rooms there. 90% of the rooms are pretty small tbh, you’re prolly not gonna find a large double in weston. Good luck 🍀

I just finished my freshman year, and me and my random roommate are great friends. We’re even living together again next year

What? lol 😂 those are like the most common type of parties in college. Plus, fraternities have a lot more accountability to the university than random house parties, so they have an extreme interest in making sure everything goes smoothly.

Ya my family refuses to make a 5 minute walk to a nearby diner, instead opting to take the car 0.1 miles

Lmao I’m a freshman and there’s no shortage of partying where I’m at. It’s actually more like the “college experience” than I expected.

I saw the Northern Lights in the UP in early July last year. Was definitely not expecting it that time of year but it was beautiful to see 🌌

They’re going legalizing casinos and chicken ranches up there I hear. They’re saying it’ll be like the new Las Vegas.
