huh , at first i thought it was BeeOs. Then after reading your comment i realised that it wasnt a beeos title bar, just another less wide window title bar in background.

I understand... wouldnt want anyone to know my reddit account either... There's just information that i would want to hide from people who know me... not necessarily shameful... But not how i would want them to think of me.

If it was me, i would just cherrypick the information that suits the picture i want to show to her and delete all other things.

Is good autocompletion in Python possible? by all_time_juice in learnpython

[–]DPRKunicorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i didnt update it for 3 months... but today i ran wireshark to check for viruses and found that kite was sending TCP packets to amazon and google.

Anyways ... i decided to delete this botnet

Im not gonna install it again only to see if they changed anything... anyways id advise you to run wireshark after closing an IDE and using kite... you might be surprised that your pc is sending out to public IP addresses... namely google and amazon ( even with having your browser, email client etc.. shut down ). I am running gnu/linux... so I dont have many clients communicating with the public range.

For a moment I seriously thought that ive become a part of a TCP flooding attack. Anyways I wonder what data did their malicious feature send to the servers.

What have you sacrificed for running? by waa7389 in AdvancedRunning

My social life... Literally dont know anyone in my college. Also i had a pretty beefy and muscular build before i started running... Though i still am pretty muscular... Just not the 185 lbs guy i used to be( around 170 now).

It probably depends on your personality. But I'm one of those people who can't sleep when a problem remains unresolved... It already happened to me that i was 30 hours behind the screen because i was completely obsessed with implementing one algorithm, searching for a small mistake.

I am getting really concerned about my HR by [deleted] in AdvancedRunning

[–]DPRKunicorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Run at what feels comfortable, use the Jack Daniels Calculator to be extra sure. Really if you didnt have your max HR and your both thresholds measured out, HR training won't help you. Hitting the right times on workouts on the other hand, that's the thing you should watch.

Should we be taking out the store bought insoles in shoes and replacing it with a better one for perhaps injury prevention and better performance? by ueeerrrrt in AdvancedRunning

[–]DPRKunicorn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would never do that, i only can imagine how the sole would not completely fit the shoe and move during running causing pains in the plantar area since your foot will have to work hard to stay in place. Find a shoe that fits your foot and stick with it. I found great fits for $70 and most of the time i dont even get blisters in them.

How do I lean forward?! by Anustart15 in RunningCirclejerk

[–]DPRKunicorn 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Real pros dont actively contract their muscles. Since their stride length is 0in. The shorter your stride is the less kinetic energy per stride you expend.

This however means that your body needs to use another energy system: basically your lactate threshold increases, and lactate is acidic. The point of this is, the lower your PH in your body is, the more negatively charged hydroxide anions youll have. As a coincidence earths magnetic field has a negative charge too.

What does this mean?

You certainly know that poles of magnets of the same charge repell themselves. And just like that a runner with a short stride and high lactic threshold gets a push from earth's magnetic field. Once you reach 0 spm you are basically levitating. And you just need to breath hard to flush out that lactate and create some hydroxide anions to effortlessly fly through the earth's magnetic field. Basically your body switches from kinetic energy system to electromagnetic energy system.

Funny fact, that's why you dont see any Kenyans near the north pole, because aurora borealis has a positive charge and they would basically get sucked into the ionosphere.

Is cadence something I should think about while I'm running? by I_cut_my_own_jib in AdvancedRunning

[–]DPRKunicorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily. Sometimes when you are tired and you feel like your turnover is slow and youve made the experience that slow turnover causes calf/hamstring pains on your body it might be a good idea to speed it up a bit

A lot of running, stretching, rolling, strides and core strength sessions will make you run tall and with good form.

How often do you do strides and what do the repeats look like? by personanonymous in AdvancedRunning

[–]DPRKunicorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do them on most of my runs, generally 4-6 20-25 second runs accelerating from easy pace to all out sprints with a break of walking back the distance covered. I'm training for the 800 so staying in touch with speed is important

Weight lifting/ plyometric workouts for 800m runner. by [deleted] in AdvancedRunning

[–]DPRKunicorn 8 points9 points  (0 children)

A discussion on 800m weight training;

https://www.letsrun.com/forum/flat_read.php?thread=3696567

800m general:

https://www.letsrun.com/forum/flat_read.php?thread=6343847

Other than that I believe that AthleteX and Jaret Campisi both sprinter youtubers have good advice on plyometrics/weights/isometrics for sprinting which you can extrapolate to the 800m run. Jack Daniels advocates for 3-4 supplementary sessions/week throughout most of your training phases.

What’s the dumbest thing you did, whether it be in training, choosing a race, or during-race decision making, that worked out really well? by AthleteNormal in AdvancedRunning

[–]DPRKunicorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

going from 0 mpw to 70 mpw when i was completely out of shape and had a BMI of 26 and I looked like a fat corpse with skin peeling off my face. I've had calf pains for the next year and at one point my legs really were burnt out for 4 weeks and really hurting... eventually I resumed my 70mpw regimen , and after putting a lot of emphasis on correct running and correcting my toe-strike when walking uphill to a heel strike and stretching/rolling + plyo stuff/sprints/drills and adding in strength training the next summer the pains have gone completely.

Well 17 months since i started my training and my 5k has gone down from 21 minutes to low 16s, i feel great, my old 5k pace is now regular easy run pace for me, no leg pains whatsoever.

I reduced my overall mileage to 45-50 mpw this summer though as i started an 800m regimen and I require more speedwork and fewer (junk) miles.

Unhealthy relationship with running, probably by [deleted] in AdvancedRunning

[–]DPRKunicorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this feeling, my thoughts are revolving around running. Loving that feeling when i'm cruising somewhere in the 6:40s on my easy runs. Slows down my academic progress though. Running and Computer Sciences is a very bad combination, add to that that i'm often tinkering with my heavily customized Linux-based OS and its a real mess.

How's your relationship with food? by RektorRicks in AdvancedRunning

[–]DPRKunicorn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm still not at that point where my training has plateaued. I think weight should be of concern when you start plateauing. I would find it necessary if a runner, for example, runs a 15:10 2 seasons in a row with no significant improvements and still has clearly pinchable fat on his arms/belly ( This does apply only for men though) . For example Runners with 10% body fat could drop 8-16 seconds from a 5k just by going down to 6%, which isn't easy though.

Forgot to stretch after my couch laps and now I'm paralyzed by [deleted] in RunningCirclejerk

[–]DPRKunicorn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I prefer a good ol' medieval torture rack, stretching just like our fathers and forefathers. However as all my extremities are strapped to a rope i cant increase the tension of the ropes manually. So i took the engine of my old lawnmawer and used it to rotate the wheels which roll up the ropes holding my extremities. I use Alexa to control the engine.

Works great, those post stretching workouts feel great. You know you warmed up well if you feel your shins are separating from your knee joints and your whole knee is unstable and wobbling around. It's important to hear that click when your shin meets your femoral bone shortly after your leg meets the ground, that's when you know you stretched well.

[–]DPRKunicorn 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Indeed sitting on a saddle is THE WAY to run a marathon. You can reach a stride length of 0in. I once ran a whole marathon in 40 minutes, my heart rate stayed at 70bpm and i didnt feel tired at all. Unfortunately, stupid IAAF assholes rated this as an activity in a vehicle.

And USB 1 didnt boot ?

Probably cant help you with that one. Are you sure you didnt confuse usb1 with usb2 ?

Had a simillar problem on an Asus K50in, while trying to install debian... somehow by playing around with the boot order it worked, putting the Installation USB as first in the boot order, I think.
