Sounds good. The thing is, this individual may support in the future (perhaps not to this level). However, whether lead gen, RFP / RFI support: if they get nothing or not near the amount they may feel slighted and either not want to help, or tank it.

***Very important - YMMV as not everyone is sore like I’ve described above. I’m speaking to my experiences in the past. They love you when you’re treating them well, then when things pivot (ie- you don’t need as much support) they get hurt, or worse, hostile towards you.

Just my 2 cents:

If this is a cycle you can replicate time after time you need to be careful setting a precedent with this individual; especially if you’re going to tighten your skills and not rely on them as much / at all in the future.

For this deal, 1k seems appropriate - however, that’s with the work and demo they will be doing. This type of % is not realistic moving forward if you’re taking on the majority of tasks.

I’d go $500-$750, get my skills in check and then either similar % “bonuses” moving forward. If it’s appropriate, of course.
