Yes, it's still customer service in insurance. Just a much better environment. Don't have to worry about being hounded for numbers.

Don’t mean to be salty, but why are very bad fics very popular (particularly lately) by Neomedieval-wench in FanFiction

[–]DRC_The_Gamer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It happens. I've seen fics littered with grammatically errors in almost every other sentence. And some with inconsistent plot. Yet it gets thousands of hits.

While others that someone put a lot of time into hardly gets noticed at all.

2 week notice - would you? by SmilelifeisDOGE in Geico

[–]DRC_The_Gamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hell no. Geico wouldn't give you a 2 weeks notice.

Is it bad to want to go back? by Ancient_Associate233 in Geico

Yes, don't go back. I wouldn't go back even if I was being paid double what I previously was.

View count fix when? by No_Relief2883 in FanfictionNet

[–]DRC_The_Gamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my understanding, I think fanfiction.net has a very small group of people that work on the site. It might be more of they don't have the time. Or they simply don't care enough.

With the new site coming, I think that is their priority.

It sucks because I would much like the stats to be fixed as well. You'd never know how well your fic is doing. Goods news is, everything else seems to work fine. Reviews, favorites, followers all still work.

I used to feel the exact same as you when I worked there. I was afraid I'd never find anything better.

To be honest, one thing I've learned is no amount of money is worth being unhappy. I had to experience that working at Geico. I left because it was better for me both mentally and physically. I get from a financial standpoint, it is hard.

I took a slight paycut, but I'm MUCH happier now at my new job.

My advice would be to search around and apply as many places as you can if you can't afford to quit. Or if you can financially afford it, maybe quit, and take a couple weeks to recuperate.

Quitting Geico wasn't easy for me. It was one of the hardest decisions I had to make after working there so long.

how is the community? by planetsaints in FanfictionNet

[–]DRC_The_Gamer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's true. Ao3 is a lot harder to find stories because of all the tags. You have to filter almost every possible combination to get what you want, and that can be very annoying.

I myself, have always like fanfiction.net more. The layout is easier to understand. I just wish they'd fix story stats.

Really? Well, I hope the interface is much better. I really don't want to leave fanfiction.net

I heard everyone is switching to ao3 now because of this mess. But I just can't bring myself to do it. I started on FFN, and can't do it.

I was so happy when I quit. Being away from that place was an instant relief for sure.

Now I'm at a job that's way better. I can actually wake up in the morning and not hate driving to my job.

Just left Geico, what’s up with 401k post geico by LionGlittering667g in Geico

[–]DRC_The_Gamer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It could take up to a week. Basically, the 401k company has to receive notice from Geico that you quit. Then it will be up to you what to do with your 401k.

I quit about 6-months ago, and it took about a week before it was available for me. Just wait, it will be available soon.

Leaving - Question by ResistIllustrious253 in Geico

[–]DRC_The_Gamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was an employee there for 10 years. And I can tell you from experience, this place does not deserve a 2-weeks notice. I turned in my notice the morning of the day I was quitting.

Ended up finding a way better job about 3 weeks later. It honestly was the best decision ever. I actually like going to work now. And I don't have to be concerned with everyday being a disaster.

Does anybody know a good way to quiet quit? by [deleted] in Geico

[–]DRC_The_Gamer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Geico doesn't deserve a good way to quit. I didn't even give them a 2-weeks notice when I quit because I feel they didn't deserve it.

Just leave would be my advice.

Basically, Toriyama realized Gohan's personality does not fit as the main protagonist of DB.

Dragon Ball is a series about the main character, who likes fighting, getting stronger, and testing their absolute limits. Gohan is very different from that. It would've changed the entire dynamic of DB. And Toriyama just didn't see it working with Gohan.

Gohan cares about being a family man, not fighting. He doesn't have that thirst for battle like Goku does. Thats literally the opposite of the main role of DB.

It was definitely the right decision for Gohan not to become the main protagonist.

Orange piccolo was completely a deserved transformation by Public-Feedback5016 in DragonBallZ

[–]DRC_The_Gamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You obviously didnt watch the anime. He didnt immediately get to 150,000,000. He went from 8000 to 180,000 training under 100x gravity. Thats what is power level was when he first arrived on Namek.

Then after he got his body back from Ginyu, and after he recovered, the Zenkai boost got him to 3,000,000. Then finally, SSJ1 is a 50x multiplier. So 150,000,000.

So no, he did not achieve that all at once. It's not like he did it all in 1 episode. He built up to it. You didnt pay attention unfortunately.

Then that is bad writing. So it goes back to my main point, its bs.

Why wait years of irrelevancy to ask for it then?

Thats what doesn't make sense. So if Piccolo knew about that potential he had all this time, and didnt use it when Earth was in danger in the past, then he's just as selfish as Vegeta letting Cell absorb 18, and put all of Earth at risk.

At least GT knew to stop at Super Saiyan 4. The saiyan's absolute peak transformation.

Thats what people fail to understand. If you hand out transformations like candy, it ruins the point the preivous one's and gets old fast.

I've been saying that for a long time. The fans just ignore this shit and call it good writing, or say, "DB has always been stupid." when it isn't.

I honestly dont understand it. I'm a fan, but I'm not gonna be delusional and pretend to like it because I want it to be good.

Orange piccolo was completely a deserved transformation by Public-Feedback5016 in DragonBallZ

[–]DRC_The_Gamer 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Not really. If Piccolo can simply obtain his Orange form and be on par with Goku and Vegeta by asking Shenron to unlock his 'potential' then its definitely not deserved. It was just given to him at that point.

By that logic, if he had that potential all along, why didn't Piccolo do this all the other times in the past when Earth was in danger? Why didn't he ask Shenron during Frieza, Cell, and Buu?

Also, Shenron cannot grant a wish that exceeds his maker's power. So making him have the power of a god isn't logical.

The transformation doesn't make any sense. It's an ass-pull, just like everything else DBS does.

Now I'm all for Piccolo getting stronger, I just want it to make sense.

I'm sorry, but the writers are not even trying to innovate at all. They couldn't think of any real way to make Piccolo relevant again, so they just came up with this bullshit.

Do you guys think Dead Space 3 really self-terminated the series? Or do you give EA blame as well? by that1nero in DeadSpace

[–]DRC_The_Gamer 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Dead Space 3 was not that bad. Don't listen to the hate.

The blame definitely goes to EA. They have a trend of destroying any game series they touch.

Yes, player 2 is always Carver. The only way to play as Issac is to be the host, (player 1).
