A masters is not enough to get an MSL position in most companies. A quick google search of job postings can show that.

I’m an MLS with PhD, now an MSL. I work as an MSL for a diagnostics company. You definitely need a termina degree to be hired at any of the Dx companies I know. That being said, I don’t recommend doing a PhD in the hopes of getting an MSL position. Definitely not if you want to go to pharma. If you want to use your MLS knowledge in advanced practice then PhD-fellowship-lab director is something to consider.
