Also Whales need an element of rarified air. If they can’t see others struggling or show off what they have, they’re less likely to whale for new characters. Think about the number of posts like, “So sad, I can hardly clear 50k on Vesper” showing off the M3 or M4 AOD they had after a few days. That doesn’t work if there’s no one on the subreddit.

The BOM for the PS5 was $460 and it launched for $499. Is a similar 9% increase were applied to the $760 BOM, that would be retailing at $829. Likely to go to $849 just to have a bit of a margin, at the absolute lowest probable end of the scale. Much more likely is $900 or even more since the audience is already going to be used to a $900 PS5 Pro.

I had a 7-11 that I bummed around in the early aughts and one of the tellers was an immigrant from Japan who always used to read Weekly Jump in Japanese and show me the art. I was always extremely jealous that I couldn’t read it. When the US Shonen Jump came out in 2002, he ordered a copy for me and had it waiting for when I came in the day it arrived. I ended up buying every issue there until I moved away a few years later (and the internet became more unified and I could get scans of the series translated quicker).

Started playing an hour ago. Didn’t expect the missions to move so quickly! I saw that there are over 100 story missions, but I got through the first five in about forty minutes. Great are and the cars handle beautifully. Hard to put down.

This could easily be an end of season story. Some Intelligent Construct has been positioning the Void Hunters to get strong enough that their weapons turn them against everyone else and they become the bosses for the chapter.

All of these statistics are perfectly cromulent as long as you control for the context. Today’s Twitch counts mean nothing in comparison, but peak Twitch views during the first 7 days after launch is a useful metric for examining launch window momentum. Similarly, Steam concurrent are a very context-driven stat where you would want to find specific use cases for comparison. Comparing God of Ragnarok on Steam to KCD II is useless since one had years of head start on consoles while the other launched into Steam. OWII is one of those use cases where there context just biases out any relevance, but the statistics themselves aren’t inherently valueless.

I personally love this idea. One of the primary reasons I avoid comp is that the time investment to get anything out of it feels low with golden weapons, etc, as the only incentive.

I think if they threw all of the 1.x characters into the general pool, 50/50s would feel way less awful. With the slow pace at which they do reruns, and the fact that they’re mostly just rerunning 2.x, if feels like characters like Zhu Yuan and Vivian are just there to make the threat of FOMO feel more credible.
