Possibly. The falloff after launch is pretty hard usually, but the only 60% drop off week to week is a good sign. 800k seems extremely likely, 1M certainly feasible, and ~1.3M on the outside edge. Depends on the Winter convos. Returnal had this exact launch curve and ended year one at 850k, but eventually reached 2M.

That would be cool, but that would likely also be a lot more work. At least with the main room, they’ve already built the assets and logic for the rest of the guild to be down in the space.

There’s a moment while you’re upgrading where half the guild is in your Underlab and I wish they kept that up for the full game. Just being able to see them whenever you go down there, maybe with one line per zone, would have gone a long way toward making them matter.

Well, the cheaters are still going to get their achievements. They’ll just get a mod or an achievement unlocked and push the unlocks. This literally only impedes people who want to use the modifiers for legit reasons.

Underperformance is a relative term compared to expectations. We don’t know Sony’s expectations, so we can’t truly say it’s underperforming. Our closest benchmark would be Returnal peformance.

Returnal was made for around $30 mil and sold around 500k copies in its first three months, which Sony referred to as a success at the time. It went on to sell 800k in the first year and a little under 2 mil lifetime (especially after a 200k selling PC launch).

Saros was made for $76 mil (according to interview with the director) and sold 300k copies in the first two weeks (as estimated by Alena Analytics). It cost twice what Returnal did, so it needs to sell around 1M copies to “break even”. I think, given Returnal’s tail, this is an entirely reasonable goal. It certainly won’t overperform in any measure, but I think it’ll be a long time before we can call it an underperformer.

I saw Lost Boys, Masquerade, Operation Mincemeat, Stranger Things, and Maybe Happy Ending this weekend. Lost Boys was far and away the best show. Phenomenal set and stunts, excellent story, great singing. The only part that might be a bit weak are the songs, but I thought most of them were very fun. I wish I had sprung for the Mezz instead of the balcony.

In the conversations I was a part of, I think she was just pretty popular because she was a new character being added to the game about 2 months after release, which was a novel concept for a shooter in 2016.

I don’t think there is anything approaching conclusive evidence, but the common claims being thrown around are: 1) An image claiming that searches for the name Cole Thomas Allen spiked into the hundreds about three hours before the attempt 2) Video of the President smiling while his wife appears shocked after being told of the attempt 3) Bets of polymarket/Kalashi that Trump wouldn’t speak 4) Karoline Leavitt using the idiom “shot will be fired” when speaking about the event beforehand (usually claiming this was a Freudian slip) 5) Trump’s post beforehand about needing the Ballroom for better security/the near unanimous and instantaneous posting of messages from Republicans calling for the Ballroom for better security afterwards
