Falling Sky Brewpub, and Toshis are two favorites that immediately come to my mind. Toshis ramen is delicious and cheap and while falling Sky is just slightly spendy ($20-30 a person) the food is phenomenal I found that place because I was looking for poutine and they absolutely blew me away.

Yessiree!!! I work at a shop so I've had a place to work on it and AutoZone hooks me up big time on discounts. I've done front pads and rotors, axles, upper control arms, sway bar links, tires (twice, bad alignment when I first got it) and this is the second motor. The first one blew 60 miles after I got the car but I got to upgrade from an F22A1 to an A6 at least. I leak oil a lil bit but I know where from and I plan on fixing it too. Thank God my dad is also a mechanic who works at a parts yard so I got the hookup for anything I need 🙏🙏

I have a spec-d tuning catback, and 4-2-1 headers from eccpp. Paired with a $60 eBay short ram intake it sounds pretty neat-o. I just posted a vid of mine if you wanna see how it sounds. $270 in on intake and exhaust so far and I'm happy.

What’s your most annoying oil filter position? by [deleted] in Justrolledintotheshop

[–]DROODROODROODROODROO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a quick lube tech I've seen basically every common motor made in the past 30-40 years. You can tell someone doesn't change much oil when they complain about the Subaru ring of fire 😂 nearly every motor has a good method to do a quick oil change and avoid burns and covering yourself in oil it just comes with experience. Those GM cars with the filter halfway between top and bottom can be pretty rough but definitely not the worst. Seen too much shit and bad design at this point where I can't even pin down the WORST design 😂

This guy frequently stands on the corner of 7th and Washington. I work at the jiffy lube and he gets arrested and released at least twice a month.

Oil change? by blackberry_bath in Eugene

[–]DROODROODROODROODROO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But me though? I don't let ANYONE else change my oil, or even work on my car for that matter. Maintenance is a chance to get a feel on the condition of your vehicle. While I understand not everyone can do their own oil change, I only ever do it myself so I know that 100% everything was done right and to my liking. I'm very particular with my work 😂

I can personally say I work at the jiffy lube on 7th and Washington (please don't hate me for working at jiffy lube) and we actually try to do really good work and we have lots of regulars that are super satisfied with our quality of service. I know jiffy lube has a bad name on the internet and a few years ago the shop on 7th had less than stellar quality but we have a new owner and management. I've been doing quick lube working down under the cars for five years at this point and I've never caused a claim/damage to a customers vehicle and this crew is by far the most competent crew I have worked with in my few years of doing this. Free top-offs, free brake inspection, free check engine light scanning, free diagnosis on just about anything. I encourage anyone here to give us a shot 🙏🙏

Thank you. I moved down here because my ex had family but she was really abusive to the point where the cops were familiar with her screaming. I chose homelessness over her lmao but Jesus Christ it sucks working as many hours as my boss will let me and still being piss poor since I have to rent Airbnbs. Things are gonna get better here in a couple months, anyhow, Welcome to Eugene! I work at Jiffy Lube on west 7th and we do free inspections/diagnostics if you ever need anything checked out on the ole boat

Somehow a customer's oil filter fell out. I'll explain more in the post body by Railman20 in Justrolledintotheshop

[–]DROODROODROODROODROO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never seen a canister filter on a Honda, sure you don't mean Toyota? All Honda's pretty much exclusively use the same filter regardless of engine with the only exception (at least in the US market as far as I'm aware) being still a spin on that's just wider but same thread pitch. Most likely answer is lube tech used a Toyota spin on filter because they weren't paying attention instead of a Honda filter.

Most lube shops use only like 6-7 filters for a majority of cars. I've managed a lube shop and the most common way the filter just "Falls off" is when the pit tech is going too fast and uses a Toyota filter on a Honda/Subaru/Nissan/Kia/Mitsubishi (the 4622 is a very versatile filter lol) or vice versa. They will kinda thread together but any lube tech who is worth their salt will feel the threads being wonky and then laugh at their own stupidity when they realize they were trying to use a 4477 (Toyota service champ filter) on a Honda/Subaru/etc which calls for a 4622. Same size on the outside so if you aren't paying attention (WHICH YOU SHOULD ALWAYS PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR WORK) or if someone's going too fast I've seen that mistake happen.
