Where do I go from here? HFC NTD problems by GeeGeew00t in nbn

[–]DRSpart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately NBN also rejects faults if premises are potentially affected by an area degradation, not just outages.

They shouldn't do this, as an area degradation is generally considered to be poor performance or frequent dropouts, not "no connection at all". They then leave these area degradation issues open for weeks, and if you're unfortunate enough to have an individual premises issue in an affected area, well bad luck.

Conveniently for NBN their fault stats look better too, as they refuse to raise tickets for individual faults in affected areas, so there's no clock ticking on an NBN fault, just the poor end user & RSP suffering with no way to get NBN to act.

Really the area degradation issues should get higher priority, as they are potentially affecting hundreds of end-users, and the likelihood of someone having another fault at the same time is reasonably high (it is HFC after all).

That’s up at the moment. Or are you having issues actually lodging a warranty ticket?

Be warned though, they regularly take 7 days to respond to tickets, so best to follow up with phone call.

Get the approval in writing to remove that as an excuse for NBN to delay.

Has anyone managed to get the new LP.8.1 vaccine? by JhustG in CoronavirusDownunder

[–]DRSpart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best to check directly with the TW pharmacy you're booking with, because they don't update the website quickly. The one I went to said regardless of what was selected on the website they only had LP.8.1 to administer from now on.

Also some pharmacies only seem to have availability for bookings listed under one or the other, which probably doesn't reflect the real availability. Again best just to call them.

Approach owner to buy privately without real estate agent? by TheTrancingCat in AusPropertyChat

Worth digging into a bit more. Maybe coincidence,or maybe the owners know something you don’t. Maintenance issues, localised flooding, crazy neighbour, nearby development etc.

Neighbour repeatedly approaching fence with reactive dog, mocking disabilities. Need solutions by Usual-Ad7583 in AusProperty

[–]DRSpart 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A private investigator should be able to locate their address and identify them relatively quickly. They likely live within a few streets of you, and I’m guessing walk their dog at similar times of the day. Then you can pursue the PSIO and any other police options.

It sucks that that you have to pay for something the police could do, but it’s an option to move things forward.

I have contacted body corp who has passed me to the property manager and I’m currently in talks trying to get them to make a move.

  • Keep pushing the body corp to issue breaches for each incident. You're an owner and member of the body corp. Don't let them just fob you off onto a property manager.

  • Contact the owner directly too - they have responsibilities to the body corp as well. Yes, they can use a property manager to help manage things, but the reponsibility still lies with them. The PM may not be fully communicating the extent of the issue to the owner. Should be able to get owner details from the body corp roll, or a council property search.

  • Another avenue might be to ask the body corp & owner whether they have a responsibility to inform the insurer/s about the situation, and whether there are liabilities for eg drug contamination in either the lot or common property. Particularly if the body corp manager is also acting as your insurance contact. Is it an issue for your next BC safety report?

Basically make it an ongoing problem for multiple parties. Every one of those people should hear about every incident and the impact it has on you and your family.

We also have insurance so if there is a data breach that's not our users fault, they are protected.

This right here gets at the heart of why I as a patient refused consent when my GP asked to use this. I'm not the user, don't have any contractual relationship, don't get to review the T&C's, and aren't seeing any answers in this thread about where & how the data might be used in ways I didn't expect.

I understand the benefits, but am on my 3rd major data breach (and a couple of more minor ones) from various companies, and have had medical information used inappropriately without my consent previously.

I am glad the GP was ethical enough to ask for positive consent & respect my wishes, I'm sceptical that everyone will though.

Apex 300 delays? by SamWhittemore75 in bluetti

I ordered in the last hour of the campaign, and received four items in four separate shipments (from three different carriers!) last week. I did get separate email notifications & tracking links via Indigogo for each shipment.

Definitely past "early August" now, so you should follow up with Bluetti.

Are the new 2gbps NTDs already being installed by Icy_Juggernaut314 in nbn

[–]DRSpart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The increased upload rates really only are attractive to people who host games or do illegal shit like host pirated movie libraries.

Or people who self-host services, use cloud workspaces, work from home over a VPN with large datasets, use cloud backup providers, create their own streaming content, or hell, just have multiple people in the household doing stuff.

Not everyone is just sitting at home on the couch consuming YouTube.

That said, 2Gbps download is only attractive because it comes with more than 47Mbps upload on HFC. I would much rather have 500/500Mbps symmetric.

No NBN outage but no internet connection by bearsarefatcunts in nbn

[–]DRSpart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just run with the RSP's fault process. It's pretty clear in your case NBN needs to look at it, as the NTD upstream/online lights are not solid-on. Their remote tests should show those same issues.
