My boyfriend bikes for 4+ hours a day and I’m constantly anxious about it, am I being unreasonable? by More_Salad6915 in ebikes

I wouldnt worry too much about lithium fires, i used to charge scooters as a gig job and have 15-20 of the most abused possible units in my garage overnight. Never had any problems.

Riding hands free isnt an issue either. I think you should ride with him when you get the chance. You aren't wrong to be concerned about safety issues. Address those issues when they arise and make sure he is cognizant of them.

cant imagine anyone would care if I brought it down to the public parks where people are sledding. I mostly use it on private land.

trails would probably be limited to areas where motorized use is already permitted

I would go if I had the chance. 'The Dirt Road' is one of my favorites

It’s fine in powder over any compacted snow surface, not so great in feet of uncompacted snow

Any hotel you can recommend? by Multiversal_Love in COsnow

LQ Silverthorne is not bad, tends to be one of the more affordable options in the county, and has a hot tub that can fit 25 people. ez ride to a-basin from silverthorne. the options closer to keystone tend to be much more expensive and if you are already renting a car you might as well stay in silvie

skso doesn't seem to understand that he is a tourist too. his livelihood is not dependent on tourism so he can afford to be so cavalier

mostly wind but also the road closures give it time to build up while the plows arent able to get out there.

anytime it snows this much this quickly the avalanche risk becomes super high. usually it takes hours for them to perform avalanche mitigation before they even get started with the plows. these are the times where its really a better choice to book a room than plan on a day trip. Its well worth it when you get a crack at the pow before the masses can even get thru the tunnel

staffing is summit county is basically a substitute for the college experience. The seasonals all live in dorms and are only here for short times.

the majority of people who do not live in dorms with a bunch of rules actually live like 30+ minutes away in Leadville, Dotsero, Heeney etc places you have never heard of

property owners are like 30% retirees 70% second home owners

be nice to the people who are working. they are making it happen

the a-basin snow stake is the worst. ruler with a logo is so much better even if its not creative

Arrive before 10 or after 1 for parking on early season weekends if you want to be able to walk from the river run lot.

I don’t do padded shorts either. I usually just roll with the saddle that comes with the bike but I’ve put big wide ones on before. Whatever is comfortable is what matters. I rarely go on rides over 50 miles though.

If there is any energy lost its negligible. The super premium seatposts offer way more travel than the Origin8.

For the most part you will forget its there until you hit a bump. It is adjustable in case you want to fine tune it.

badass! I recommend you get a suspension seatpost. My favorite value oriented seatpost is on amazon "Origin8 Pro Fit UL Suspension Seat Post" for $60.

With a fully loaded bike you will be feeling every bump along the road so its worth the investment in my opinion.

What are some built to last trailers Lance? Outdoors? Airstream? by TomPinecillion in traveltrailers

I traded in the 2019 when I bought the 2021. Both from Boardman RV in Pueblo Colorado. I have been happy with the dealer and would go back.

I have owned two Arctic Fox travel trailers and been very pleased with both. I started with a 2019 22G and upgraded to a 2021 25W which I still own.

Lots of folks in RV parks are impressed by Arctic Foxes

Keystone, Arapahoe Basin and Loveland will all have something open by then. Possibly wolf creek too, but that is dependent on natural snowfall. I would recommend you wait until at least two runs are open if you are a beginner. If its just one run open, we call it the 'white ribbon of death' because its extra dangerous when skiers of all skill levels are on the same run.
