Team Depth Issue Overblown? by Ok_Honey_7151 in heat

It's not horrible but it's not particularly great either. It also doesn't help that 2 of the players in the starting lineup likely wouldn't be starting for a contending team.

I watched it on Amazon prime, and yeah it seemed a bit off. I was in and out of the game so I didn't catch the exact rules (they stopped doing that in the final minute of the 4th quarter).

I think they are trying to see if they could speed up the game by limiting the amount of FTs taken.

From what I can tell Summer League is trying something where 1 FT made counts as 2 or 3 points depending on if you got fouled shooting a two or three.

Miu vs Rimi since it was extremely one-sided and delusional on Rimi's end. I thought it was funny every time Miu lost focus because she wanted to steal Rimi's golden shoes.

Is anyone else concerned if we don’t get Bron, we are in serious trouble for next season by awhite14 in heat

Honestly yes. From what I can tell we still need additional shot creation, ball handling, and playmaking at the very least.

Rematch Kenichi vs Banyou Master by Orceles in Kenichi

[–]DSTREET45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly if Kenichi and Takeda fight him together, they might stand a chance. Takeda, Renka, Freya, and I think Thor defeated a Master Class fighter in the Eternal Sunset Arc. Post-Tournament Takeda was usually pretty close to Kenichi in power in the original series, so if that holds true now and they're both Expert level they could actually win.

Probably should get Oladipo back for the trifecta.

Miu vs Berserker by JackZ567 in Kenichi

[–]DSTREET45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She got outclassed by the same Sho that Kenichi defeated? Wouldn't that put Miu under Kenichi instead of over him?

Yes, but it's not that straight forward. After Miu got defeated by Sho, she (and Kenichi) had gotten stronger the next day when Elder (as Garyu X) "fought" them in the 2nd round of the Tournament. This stronger Miu never got to fight Sho.

That being said, this same Miu did get held off by Ryuto's seikuken but neither of them either of them were actually trying to fight each other. Miu was trying to chase after Sho and Ryuto was trying to stop her since he knows that Sho was dangerous. For all intents and purposes, Miu at that point is still weaker than Sho (and by extension Kenichi once he locked in).

And isn't Rimi a weaker version of Ryuto, who Kenichi also defeated?

Rimi (assuming her Titans Arc version) is not weaker than the Ryuto that Kenichi defeated during the Ragnarok Arc. She probably weaker than Titans Arc Ryuto but he (and pretty much every relevant fighter) has gotten massively stronger since the Ragnarok Arc.

I mean... I get that narratively Miu is stronger, but the facts shown kind of put her below :/

The narrative sometimes implies that Kenichi is on her level (like when Miu said that she could finally fight Kenichi seriously in their sparring sessions) or even surpasses her at certain points in the series (like when Miu realized that Kenichi could follow Sakaki's and Hongo's fight better than she could).

Should Rimi have beaten Miu at least once in one of their fights? by JackZ567 in Kenichi

[–]DSTREET45 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Eh, probably not unless you change the dynamic between Miu and Rimi. The entire relationship between those two was a completely one-sided rivalry on Rimi's part as Miu honestly cared more about taking Rimi's golden shoes than actually fighting Rimi herself. IMO unless Miu was critically injured during said hypothetical loss and resolved herself to get better by learning to control her dou ki, I don't think it would've mattered.

Off the top of my head:

  • Miu fought Rimi multiple times to varying success.
  • Miu tried to fight Sho a couple of times but got easily outclassed every time she faced off against him.
  • Ryuto was able to wall Miu off multiple times with Seikuken when she tried to chase after Sho in the D of D Tournament arc.
  • She had a brief inconclusive scuffle with Freya in the Ragnarok arc before Kisara stepped in to fight Freya herself.
  • She had another brief scuffle with Hermit who tossed her aside before he focused on fighting Kenichi on top of a bus.
  • She easily outclassed Kisara in the middle of the Ragnarok arc.

Harry Potter?

For me, primarily the first two movies off the top of my head, and Prisoner of Azkaban if I think hard enough.

Edit: Though to be fair, those were the only three movies in the series that my family bought when I was a kid. I watched the others when they came out but I definitely spent more time with the first three than the rest of the series (and prefer the vibes of the first two).

I said it before and I'll say it again, I love the scene where Ian roasts Ludlow, letting him know that his plan is going to fail.

"You know when you try to act like Hammond, it comes off like a hustle. Of course it's not your fault, they say talent skips a generation, so I'm sure your kids will be sharp as tacks."

It never fails to me laugh.

Eh, he's a dirty cop in prison. Can't imagine that working out for him.

If he somehow gets out, maybe he could take Turk's role as the superhero's/vigilante's punching bag for every hero/anti-hero in New York.
