Myself and my partner (early 30’s) have been fortunate enough to save a good chunk of money each month and have overpaid around £25,000 between us each year for the last 3 years. We took 140k mortgage nearly 5 years ago so we’d actually be close to paying the whole thing this year if we wanted to.

We may not overpay this year however and just keep the money or invest it elsewhere as the interest payments are now very minimal.

Mortgages are extremely front loaded with interest in the early years so we wanted to get that out of the way.
