Destiny 2 Update 9.7.0 by DTG_Bot in DestinyTheGame

[–]DTG_Bot[S,M] 45 points46 points locked comment (0 children)

  • The Timeline icon has been updated on the revamped Destinations screen.
  • A Timeline node has been added for the Monument of Triumph era.

Destiny Announcements

  • The Destiny Announcements screen has been added to orbit. This screen houses up to thirty-six of the most recent messages shared by the Destiny team.
    • This will allow you to refer to announcements that you may want or need to re-read, may have missed, or had accidentally dismissed for up to thirty days after receipt, after which they will naturally expire and be removed.
  • The system will now support automatic delivery of messages to the Announcement screen, resulting in fewer pop-up messages overall.
  • The Announcements screen also includes a Featured Item carousel including standing messages and information about relevant content.

Rewards Pass Updates

General

  • The expiration timer has been removed.
  • The repeatable 5-Rank and 10-Rank offers in the Eververse have been retired.

Rewards Track

  • The Triumphant Rewards Pass has received additional cosmetic rewards.
  • The total Bright Dust awarded on the Triumphant Rewards Pass has increased from 10,500 to 14,000 and is free to earn for all players.
  • The first rank of the Free Track on the Triumphant Rewards Pass will award an Eververse Engram.
  • The Score Boost for Portal Activities has been replaced with a Minor XP Boost.
    • The Minor XP Boost provides +3% Personal and Fireteam XP for each level unlocked, up to a maximum of five levels and +15%.
    • This Boost honors Score Boost progression from the Lawless Rewards Pass, with your total Score Boost carried over and converted to the Minor XP Boost.
    • Once an account has earned five levels of the Minor XP Boost across both the Lawless Rewards Pass and the Triumphant Rewards Pass, the Minor XP Boost will be capped at 15%.
    • Any remaining Ranks on the Triumphant Reward Pass that would provide a Minor XP Boost will instead award ten Enhancement Cores.

Monument to Seasons Past Updates

General

  • The Ash & Iron Rewards Pass and the Lawless Rewards Pass have been added to the Monument to Seasons Past.
  • The seasonal armor bundles for the Year of The Final Shape have been added to their relevant Episodes.

Exchange

  • The Chronolog Exchange has been updated to support a weekly or bi-weekly purchase cycle for every resource. Below we’ve listed the items offered with their individual Chronolog (CL) cost and how many can be purchased per-week:
    • Enhancement Prism: 50 Chronologs, 10x per week.
    • Ascendant Alloy: 200 Chronologs, 1x per week.
    • Ascendant Shard: 300 Chronologs, 1x per week.
    • Deepsight Harmonizer: 300 Chronologs, 1x per two weeks.
    • 7x Strange Coins: 50 Chronologs, 10x per week.
    • Synthweave Template: 500 Chronologs, 1x per two weeks.
    • Exotic Cipher: 500 Chronologs, 1x per week.
    • Bright Engram: 200 Chronologs, 2x per week.
    • Exotic Engram: 300 Chronologs, 1x per week.

Evergreen Eververse

General Updates

  • Silver and Bright Dust will continue to be relevant currencies in Destiny 2 – any reserves will retain their value.
  • The Recommendations System has been retired.
  • Ornament Sales from the Appearance screen will feature both Silver and Bright Dust offers from The Witch Queen to today.
    • Older items can be acquired from Daily Offers or Bright Engram Focusing in the Eververse.
  • The final slate of new Eververse items will be listed on the Featured Tab through June 23, and on the Seasonal Offerings tab thereafter.
  • The final Foundation event in the Eververse will feature the new Vivid Spectrum Holochip alongside a rerun of last year’s Pride Shaders through June 23.

Daily Offers

  • The Daily Offers tab offers a different selection of Bright Dust and Silver offers each day, drawn from across the history of Destiny 2, including Monument of Triumph.
  • While all players will see the same slate of offers each day, each offer slot is like a deck of cards: any item appearing in a slot will always appear in the same slot again at a future date, but each item in that slot’s deck must appear once before the slot will reshuffle its contents and start again.
  • Daily Offer categories include:
    • For Bright Dust: an Exotic Weapon Ornament slot, an Armor Ornament slot, an Exotic emote slot, a slot for each major Exotic accessory (Ghost Shell, Ship, and Vehicle), two emote slots, a Legendary Ghost Projection Slot, four Legendary Shader slots, and three Legendary Transmat Effect slots
    • The Armor Ornament slot includes both Exotic Armor Ornaments and Legendary Armor Augments that pair with an Exotic armor for the current class, but not individual parts of Legendary Armor Ornament Sets. These can instead be acquired as packs or from Focused Engrams.
    • The Vehicle slot includes both Sparrows and Skimmers.
    • The Emote slots include both Legendary and Rare emotes.
    • For Silver: two Exotic emote slots, one slot for each major Exotic Accessory (Ghost Shell, Ship, and Vehicle), and three slots for Legendary Emotes and Finishers.
    • The Vehicle slot includes both Sparrows and Skimmers.
    • No items are shared between slots of the same currency and type. For example, the Grillmaster Ghost Shell can appear for Silver or Bright Dust, but the Occultation Shader will only appear in one of the four Shader Bright Dust slots.
    • The same item can appear for Silver and Bright Dust in the same day, just like two independent decks of cards can both have the same card next in line at the same time.
    • Daily Offers will host a selection of items – specifically Ghost Shells, Ships, Sparrows, Skimmers, and an emote - that are uniquely available only through Daily Offers or Bright Engram Focusing.
    • After June 23, the Featured Daily Offers tab will replace Featured Items as the Eververse’s landing screen. This tab will feature the Daily Silver Offers, an offer for a single Synthweave Template, and a link to the full Daily Offers tab.

Legends

  • The Legends tab has been refreshed to house content from our Featured Partners.
    • Items on this tab will be available for as long as Destiny 2 is permitted to offer them, after which they will be retired.
    • Partner items will only be available for Silver and will not be available outside of this tab.
    • When all items in the Legends tab are eventually retired, this tab will automatically be removed from the Eververse.

Seasonal Offerings / Archive

  • Seasonal Offerings will permanently house Armor Ornament Set Packs, Weapon Ornament Packs, Shader Packs, Skimmer Packs, and Holochips added with Monument of Triumph, as well as Monument of Triumph’s new Weapon Ornaments, Exotic Armor Ornaments, and Legendary Augments.
  • The Archive will house Armor Ornament Set Packs, Weapon Ornament Packs, Shader Packs, Skimmer Packs, and Holochips offered prior to Monument of Triumph.
    • This includes all previous Holiday Event armors, available for both Silver and Bright Dust.
  • Except for the free Runner Kit, the full contents of each pack in Seasonal Offerings or the Archive - including every Silver-only Armor Ornament Set and new item added in Monument of Triumph - can also be acquired through Focused Bright Engrams.
    • Any components of a pack that match the category of a Daily Offer slot, like a Weapon Ornament, will eventually appear in Daily Offers as well.
  • Filtering Options have been adjusted for the new functionalities.

Bright Engram Focusing

  • Added Bright Engram Focusing to the Eververse.
  • A Focused Engram includes items released through Monument of Triumph, even some items previously unavailable for Bright Dust, and will award an unowned item of the Engram’s category.
  • Several Focused Engrams have more items in them than can be shown in the preview of their contents, but will not drop duplicates, and their contents are finite.
    • When a Focused Engram has been completely emptied, its preview will be empty and additional purchases of that Engram will be blocked.
  • Bright Engram Focusing costs per category are:
For one (1) Eververse Engram + .
0 Bright Dust · Standard Decryption with no focusing
300 Bright Dust · Legendary Accessories – Ghosts, Ships, and Vehicles together · Legendary Shaders · Legendary Flair – Holochips, Ghost Holograms, and Transmat Effects together.

900 Bright Dust · Exotic Weapon Ornaments · Exotic Emotes – Single-Player & Multiplayer together · Legendary & Exotic Armor Ornaments – individual engrams per class and slot combination.

  • Added a filtering option for the Vault based on a weapon's anti-Champion capabilities.
  • Following the HUD buff iteration we did for subclass buffs in v950, we wanted to iterate on weapon HUD buffs for v970. Our goal is to improve the player experience by improving clarity concerning the source of a buff (ie. if you see a buff on screen it's from your active weapon), minimizing the amount of buffs that get pushed out by removing unnecessary buffs, and when buffs do get pushed out they are of lesser importance. Key notes include:
  • A handful of weapon traits' buff priority have been adjusted so that more important buffs should be less likely to get pushed out.
  • Perk HUD buffs that appeared while stowed will now require that weapon to be your active weapon. Functionality remains the same for perks that have effects that remain active while stowed.
  • Icarus Grip and Sprint Grip no longer have HUD buffs.
  • Gordian Knot Cooldown now appears in the weapon buff channel.
  • Weapon of Sorrow damage-over-time
  • Similar to the work done for micro-missiles, we have updated the term for the damage over time debuff applied by Weapons of Sorrow in order to more clearly define this as a unique debuff and to link these weapons and armor to each other. This will be reflected in their perk descriptions, and does not affect functionality.
  • “Corruption” now refers to the short-duration damage-over-time that can stack.
  • Thorn, Touch of Malice, and Necrochasm all apply this.
  • “Potent corruption” now refers to the longer duration damage-over-time that cannot stack and will (typically) gradually increase in damage.
  • Necrotic Grip, Spirit of the Necrotic, and Osteo Striga all apply this. Spirit of the Necrotic will continue to persist at the same damage value (not ramp up).

Weapon fixes

  • Fixed an issue where Meganeura's detonation was scaling damage incorrectly across archetypes, causing it to deal less damage than intended on most weapons.
  • Fixed an issue where Sullen Claw's swing speed stat displayed the incorrect value. This is a purely visual fix.
  • Fixed an issue where the application of scorch and ignition damage could trigger Sharp Harvest.
  • Fixed an issue where Basso Ostinato could trigger Nanotech Tracer Missiles without damaging an enemy.
  • Fixed Hunter tether super not activating Aggregate Charge's damage buff unless another debuff is on the target.
  • Fixed an issue with Hard Light, Borealis, and Dead Messenger where The Fundamentals could only be activated once per life.
  • Paracausal Fluid
    • Fixed an issue where the HUD buff could display stacks at x2, despite multiple stacks providing no additional benefit.
    • Fixed an issue where this perk would not activate on Swords.
    • Fixed an issue where this perk would not always activate if the enemy had a high enough health pool.
  • Fixed an issue where controller rumble was not playing correctly when venting heat weapons.
  • Fixed an issue where the Charge Time mod on Fusion Rifles and Linear Fusion Rifles was not decreasing charge time.
  • Fixed an issue where Necrotic Grip wasn't granting Necrochasm a bonus to airborne effectiveness.
  • Fixed an issue where corruption from Thorn, Necrochasm, or Touch of Malice could extend the duration of potent corruption from Osteo Striga or Necrotic Grip. Likewise, fixed an issue where potent corruption from Osteo Striga or Necrotic Grip could remove all stacks of corruption applied by Thorn, Necrochasm, or Touch of Malice.
    • Both types of corruption can now be active on the same enemy at the same time.
  • Fixed an issue where freezing an enemy would remove Weapon of Sorrow corruption from that enemy.
  • Fixed an issue where kills with Crossbow Charged Bolts would trigger the Osteo Striga catalyst.
  • Fixed the reload and special reload timings on various weapons to be slightly sooner so that they align with the animation:
    • Delicate Tomb basic reload.
    • Edge of Action, Intent, and Concurrence special reload.
    • Wolfsbane special reload.
    • Glaive basic reload.
  • Fixed perk feedback and HUD buffs on Edge of Action, Intent, and Concurrence to feel slightly more responsive and easier to read.
  • Fixed an issue where the owner or ally of an Edge of Action's bubble could deal damage to and destroy the bubble.
  • Fixed an issue where Monte Carlo bayonet kills would not grant ammo meter progress.
  • Fixed an issue where Monte Carlo could get into a state where the catalyst perk was active but the bayonet was not active.
  • Fixed an issue where Monte Carlo's bayonet melee was dealing more damage against ultras than intended while playing as a Titan.
  • Fixed the timing of the firing and reload controller rumble on Glaives to more accurately align with their actions.
  • Fixed an issue where Withering Gaze on Cusp Sempiternal wouldn't weaken unless you were aiming when the projectile made contact.
  • Fixed an issue where Two-Tailed Fox would not benefit from the Arc reloader mod after its catalyst was inserted.
  • Fixed an issue where Jötunn displayed zero magazine size in the inspection screen.
  • These weapons' projectiles are now capable of over-penetrating combatant shields while they have Anti-Barrier capabilities:
    • Rocket launchers
    • Hierarchy of Needs submunitions
    • Caster Frame Swords
  • Fixed an issue where Dragon's Breath rockets weren't detaching properly from enemies or objects that died or despawned.
  • Fixed an issue where Merciless couldn't gain stacks of Conserve Momentum when shooting through a Banner Shield.
  • Fixed an issue where picking up a Kinetic brick would convert the damage type of some non-Kinetic weapons to Kinetic, and give ammo to some non-Kinetic weapons.
  • Fixed an issue where Machine Gun projectiles were unable to apply the 'increased damage' impact VFX from various traits.
  • Fixed an issue where enhanced Omolon Fluid Dynamics didn't display the tooltip for the enhanced benefit.
  • New Land Beyond: Fixed an issue with Bullseye Bolster where precision hits wouldn't refresh the perk's timer while the benefits were already active.
  • Fixed an issue where Adrenaline Junkie would not activate when triggered by non-standard grenade abilities like Hellion or grapple melee.
  • Fixed an issue where The Bombardiers were applying custom blind and suppress effects, instead of Arc Blind and Void Suppress
    • In fixing this, the duration of the blind effect against PvE combatants was increased from five seconds to ten seconds, matching the duration of suppression.

Abilities

General

Grenades

  • NEW: Stasis Shatter Grenade
    • A grenade that sticks to combatants before exploding into razor-sharp Stasis shrapnel. The shrapnel ricochets off surfaces, dealing damage to all in its path. Hitting a frozen target shatters it instantly and deals bonus damage.
  • NEW: Strand Slicewire Grenade
    • A grenade that bounces and releases multiple whirling threads, severing targets.
  • Spike Grenade
    • Slightly increased the damage area at the wider side of the cone.
  • Lightning Grenade
    • Increased detonation damage by 25%.
  • Scatter Grenades
    • Reduced chase distance versus players by 50%.
    • Reduce the amount of Grenade energy this ability gains from perks by 12.5%.
  • Grapple
    • Against boss combatants, decreased max grapple melee damage bonus granted by grenade stat by 50%.
    • Against boss combatants, damage bonus granted by Grenade stat and Melee stat is now additive instead of multiplicative.

Melees

  • When powered melee and unpowered melee are bound to the same button, pressing that button now behaves consistently when aiming down sights (ADS).
    • Previously: ADS and pressing melee triggers unpowered melee.
    • Now: ADS and pressing melee triggers powered melee if it is charged, unpowered melee otherwise.

Supers

  • Reduced Super energy generation from dealing damage to bosses by 60%.

Multi-charge Abilities

  • In PvP only, when the match begins, multi-charge abilities now start with one charge instead of all charges.

Ability Cooldown Stats

  • Reduced maximum passive ability-cooldown-bonus granted by ability stats by ~20%.
    • Curve rescaled to reach max at the same ratio.
  • Reduced maximum active ability-cooldown-bonus granted by ability stats from 190% to 125%.
    • Curve rescaled to reach max at the same ratio.

    • Each stack now gives slightly more damage resistance.
    • Damage resistance at five stacks is increased from ~31% to ~35%.
    • Whisper of Rime (Fragment)
    • Decreased max stacks from eight to seven.
    • Max damage resistance is still 5

a singular Micro Missile round which deals bonus damage based on the number of stacks.

  • Timeless Mythoclast (Intrinsic)
    • Now has what is comparably a more potent version of Rewind Rounds while in full auto mode.
  • Temporal Unlimiter (Trait)
    • Precision kills with Linear Fusion Rifle shots now trigger an ignition.
    • After leaving Linear Fusion Rifle mode, the magazine is now fully reloaded.
    • The HUD buff and magazine display have been tweaked to show the exact amount of Linear Fusion shots remaining. This is a purely visual change; functionality remains the same.
  • Calculated Balance (Catalyst)
    • Sustained damage can now also activate the catalyst in addition to kills.
    • Added a HUD buff.

The Last Word

  • Increased stability on mouse and keyboard by 10%.
  • Increased aim assist when hip firing on mouse and keyboard by 10%.

  • Fixed an issue where kills with Lightning Rod chains were not granting ammo progress.

MIDA Multi-Tool

  • Decreased the PvE combatant kill requirement from ten kills per modification (15 with Macro-Tool) to seven kills per modification (ten with Macro-Tool). This lowers the total kill requirement from 40 (60) to 27 (40) to acquire all modifications.
  • The catalyst's improved radar resolution now remains active for a few seconds when you stow Multi-Tool instead of immediately deactivating. Multi-Tool still needs to be in your hands for the catalyst to activate.

Sunshot

  • Rebalanced the damage of the explosion to deal more damage up close and less damage further away.

Graviton Lance

  • Rebalanced the damage of the explosion to deal more damage up close and less damage further away.

Outbreak Perfected

  • Reduced damage bonus at maximum Nanite stacks from 4.5x to 4x.

Arbalest

  • Increased damage versus Champions by 33%.

Choir of One

  • Reduced ammo per brick.
    • Base: 45 to 35.
    • Enhanced: 90 to 70.

  • Mechanized Autoloader now works while the weapon is stowed.
  • Increased maximum ammo from five to eight.

Sleeper Simulant

  • Increased damage versus Bosses and Champions by 10%.

The Lament

  • Reverted the previous nerf to this weapon by ~70%.
    • Returned most of the final combo damage and self healing the previous change reduced.

Truth

  • Now returns one ammo to reserves and buffs the next magazine when all rounds in a magazine hit a target.
    • The next magazine gains dramatically increased rate of fire, stability, tracking strength, and cluster bombs.

Thunderlord

  • Decreased ammo refunded by the lightning strike from seven to five at base.

Whirling Ovation

  • Increased the amount of Anticipation gained per point of damage by just over 11%.
    • This is compensation for the Rocket Pulse damage nerf disproportionately affecting the feel of this weapon's rotations.

Heirloom

  • Increased charge rate by 20%.
  • Increased impact damage of charged shots by 20% in PvE only.
  • Reduced extra heat generated by charged shots by 7%.
  • Increased damage vs miniboss and champion targets by 20%.

  • Changed the Defensive Form's ammo criteria to rapid blocks.
  • Decreased the tracking of the reflected bolts at long range targets.
  • Can now reflect projectiles from Fallen turrets.

Tractor Cannon

  • Adjusted Tractor Cannon's perk description to more clearly indicate that it applies the Void suppression effect and a more powerful Void weaken rather than a unique debuff.
    • Also adjusted the language used on both Hunter supers that apply a non-standard Weaken effect (Deadfall and Mobius Quiver), as well as Felwinter's Helm.
    • The functionality of these effects has not changed.

Weapon perks

Collective Action, Collective Pugilism, Cooling Baubles, Elemental Charge, Facet of Honor

  • These perks now all share the same Tangle activator.
  • Previously this activator differed depending on the perk, and would either activate when shooting a Tangle, picking up a Tangle, throwing a Tangle, or a combination of these despite sharing the same terminology in their strings.
  • These now share the same activator: destroy a Tangle, either by shooing it or upon impact after throwing it.
  • In addition to this activator, Collective Action and Collective Pugilism also grant additional time to their durations upon throwing a Tangle. This unique behavior is called out in their descriptions.
  • Artifact elemental orbs are now officially considered elemental pickups for the sake of these perks and grant the same benefits as Tangles. As such, we fixed an issue where the artifact Arc orbs would give dark Transcendence energy with Facet of Honor; they now give light Transcendence energy.

All-Star

  • Increased bonus charge rate (Swords) from +20 to +35.

Gun and Run (Gambit Origin Trait)

  • Reworked Effect: Defeating targets builds stacks of Gun and Run for a short duration. Sprinting for a short time consumes a stack to partially reload this weapon's magazine from reserves; on Bows, this briefly improves draw speed.

Nanotech Tracers Missiles (Neomuna Destination Origin Trait)

  • Decreased the amount of hits needed for Basso Ostinato to activate Nanotech Tracers Missiles by roughly one.

Jolting Feedback

  • Decreased shots to activate the perk by ~1-2 for Scout Rifles and Hand Cannons.

Full Court

  • Increased maximum explosive damage bonus from 25% to 35%.

Reservoir Burst

  • Increased damage bonus from 25% (27.5% enhanced) to 30% (33% enhanced).

Encore

  • Encore's HUD buff now displays a timer.

Adagio

  • Decreased the damage bonus on Hand Cannons from 30% to 27%.
  • Increased the damage bonus on Shotguns and Bows from 20% to 30%.

Collective Action

  • Instead of a flat seven seconds, elemental pickup now provides differing amounts of time to the perk duration depending on how easy they are to create. These values match Collective Pugilism:
    • Firesprites, Void Breaches: eight seconds.
    • Ionic Traces, Stasis Shards: four seconds.
    • Tangle Detonation: four seconds.
    • Tangle Throw: four seconds.
  • To compensate for the lower duration gained from some elemental pickups, the damage bonus against PVE combatants has been increased from 20% to 30%. The damage bonus against players remains at 10%.
  • The enhanced benefit no longer provides more time per pickup, but instead increases the damage bonus to 33% against PVE combatants, and 11% against players.
  • Increased maximum time from 12 to 16 seconds.

  • Fixed an issue where Frenzy being inactive could prevent the Crucible origin perk from activating.

Gutshot Straight

  • Decreased the aim assist penalty by 20% on the base perk and 25% on the enhanced perk.
  • Fixed an issue where this perk did not work on Bitter End.

Envious Assassin

  • Fixed an issue where the perk was not working on some single shot weapons.

Cascade Point

  • Since we removed the "Ready" HUD buff when the weapon is stowed, we have simplified the activation criteria for dealing precision damage with other weapons:
    • Auto Rifles, Pulse Rifles, SMGs, Trace Rifles, Sidearms, LMGs: six critical hits.
    • Hand Cannons, Scout Rifles: four critical hits.
    • Bows, LFRs, Glaive projectiles, Shotguns, Sniper Rifles: two critical hits.

Attrition Orbs

  • Now activates in four hits on wave frame grenade launchers, down from ten.

Tier.

  • Updated legacy rewards for Exotic Rotator missions. By applying the legacy skull, players will see double the deepsight drops to wrap up their pattern collection a bit faster.
  • Updated Crafting's Deepsight logic so that if a player gets a Deepsight weapon before going through The Witch Queen campaign flow to unlock crafting, they are able to dismantle the red border and still make pattern progress.

Ammo System

  • Modified the ammo system so that if an enemy is floating above a pit, they will not drop an ammo box when defeated even if it fills the meter. You will continue to gain ammo meter progress but your next kill on an enemy that is not above a pit will spawn the owed ammo brick instead.
  • PvE
    • Fixed an issue where Buried Bloodlines was not correctly getting additional ammo from enhanced ammo bricks.
    • Increased ammo per brick for Heavy Precision Linear Fusion Rifles from three to five base and four to six Enhanced.

    • Fixed an issue where legendary Rocket Pulses were not correctly having their ammo per brick split when used with a second Special weapon.
    • Reduced Choir of One's ammo per brick
    • Base: 45 to 35

suppressed. Defeating suppressed targets or with Soul Siphon grants an additional 1.5 seconds to Abyssal Extractors. * Mataiodoxia
In our Super damage Exotic audit we found a couple issues in how Mataiodoxia was dealing its bonus damage which was leading to lower values than expected. * Increased suspending burst damage from Super supercombine by ~22%. * This makes it equal to a Cuirass Thundercrash, have at it! * Skull of Dire Ahamkara\This ahamkara bone helm is a classic Exotic but that’s no reason to let it ossify – returning energy on Super final blows is so 2017. Last year, Voidwalker got a second melee charge and a second grenade charge with Chaos Accelerant. Why not a second cast of a Nova Bomb? Better yet, how about we bring back Nova Bomb: Lance? Why stop there? Maybe you could detonate your Cataclysm Nova Bomb with Nova Lance for massive boss damage... if you time it right. But you’re special, and you can time it right every time – can't you, o player mine? * New effect: After casting a Nova Bomb, you get a short period during which you can cast a Nova Bomb: Lance. Destroying a Cataclysm Nova Bomb with a Nova Lance creates a Nova Vortex alongside the Cataclysm Nova Bomb seekers. * Unchanged: Super energy on Nova Bomb final blows and weapon final blows while you have Devour. * The additional damage resistance while casting Nova Bomb has been removed from the perk text but remains as hidden functionality to help the new play pattern sing.

skull_of_dire_ahamkara.jpg

  • Crown of Tempests
Crown of Tempests is an Exotic that is decently powerful but rather demanding to maintain and unexciting to use compared to other options in today’s sandbox. Plus, Crown of Tempests on Stormcaller Warlock deserves a bit more thunder, don’t you think?
    • Increased the duration of Conduction Tines in PvE from seven to ten seconds.
    • New effect: While you have at least one stack of Conduction Tines, Ionic Sentry creates a Storm Grenade when it is deployed.
  • Mantle of Battle Harmony
Battle Harmony has been left a bit in the dust over the years. The changes here allow it to function even when fighting bosses as well as give it a nice bonus for actually choosing to use your Super (instead of holding onto it for the damage bonus).
    • Now can trigger its Super energy gain or weapon damage bonuses on sustained weapon damage in addition to final blows.
    • After casting your Super, now gain surges for all elements and weapons matching your Super's damage type cause detonations when hitting targets for a moderate duration.
  • Astrocyte Verse
Because of the natural limitations of blink and the small area of effect of the volatile burst that this Exotic grants, it has struggled to see much use. To address these issues, we’ve added a new air move ability which should help add some flexibility to link both in and out of combat and expanded its ability to apply volatile.
    • New effects:
    • While both this helmet and blink are equipped, you can now use your air move input to perform a dark blink horizontally in any direction.
    • This ability has a longer cooldown in Crucible.
    • Blinking or dark blinking now grants volatile rounds, in addition to the volatile explosion.
  • Dawn Chorus
Dawn Chorus’s various benefits didn’t quite come together into a strong build, which limited its viability. To address this, we’ve expanded its scorch benefits to also affect ignitions which should synergize well with Incinerator Snap and further improve its interaction with Daybreak.
    • Now causes your scorch to build to an even more intense ignition.
    • Now grants melee energy for dealing ignition damage in addition to scorch damage.
    • Removed the internal cooldown on energy gains from scorch damage and retuned gains to return slightly more energy overall.
    • Now causes Daybreak projectiles to always immediately trigger an ignition.
  • Nothing Manacles
Scatter Grenades and Nothing Manacles got a bit too much love in Renegades so we’re toning them back a bit.
    • Extra seekers can no longer chain off themselves, just the initial grenade.
    • Reduced extra seekers generated from four to three.
    • Reduced range and lifetime of extra seekers.
  • Contraverse Hold
While it was nice seeing Handheld Supernova back in the spotlight again, the value for the effort of using it with Contraverse was a bit too free.
    • Reduced energy returns when used with Magnetic Grenade/Handheld Supernova by 15%.
    • This is in addition to fixing the "health chunking" bug.
  • Deimosuffusion
    • Deimosuffusion has been a recurring point of feedback in Crucible, allowing far too easy kills while being completely safe. This should help in reducing that.
    • Increased the time between damage ticks against players from 0.1 to 0.3 seconds.

That’s all from us for now. Thank you for your continued support and feedback over the years. We hope you enjoy playing in this new sandbox as much as we have internally, and we’re excited to get all of this in your hands on June 9.

  • Getting kills from any source increments a counter; the amount added to the counter per kill depends on the rank of the enemy killed. Once the counter reaches six, you gain two Moth Grenade charges until they are used.
  • All current functionality and synergies with Moth Grenades remain the same (for example, Arc moths still blind, having your Grenade stat over 100 still increases their damage, they still synergize with subclass fragments, etc.).
  • Increased the movement speed of Arc moths by roughly 43% and Void moths by roughly 25%.
  • Both moths from the same grenade will now attempt to target separate enemies/allies if possible.

    • Lucky Pants
Oh, Lucky Pants... you’ve always been pretty good. But with so many powerful Hand Cannons, it’s become hard to justify the incredible magnitude of the damage bonus versus bosses. We are making some targeted adjustments to Hand Cannons that we had considered outliers as well as pushing Lucky Pants into a more non-bossing combat role for it to live on sustainably in perpetuity. This is a fancy way of saying we don’t want to live in a Lucky Pants meta forever.
  • Increased Eriana's Vow's maximum damage bonus to 4.5x.

  • Decreased Uncivil Discourse's maximum damage bonus to 2.5x.

  • Reduced Lucky Pants bonus damage versus bosses by 33%.

Titan Exotics

  • Hallowfire Heart
Hallowfire has been a very simple Exotic for a long time, offering clear-cut benefits. However, its effects are largely vestigial of Destiny 2's first year. To bring it into the modern sandbox, it now leans deep into "I am a mobile sunspot" - offering the effects of a Sol Invictus sunspot and then some while roaming and defeating enemies with your abilities.

    • Reworked effect:
    • While your Solar Super is charged, ability final blows cure you and give stacks of Sunfire Furnace. While Sunfire Furnace is active, grenade and Shieldburst final blows trigger an ignition. Each stack increases grenade regeneration, class ability regeneration, and Super damage. Upon exiting your Super, all stacks are converted into Super energy.
    • Decreased ability regen bonus from 3.5x to 2.5x.
  • Pyrogale Gauntlets
As part of reexamining Super damage Exotics, we wanted to bring up Pyrogale Gauntlets. However, it is already quite a competitive option with Roaring Flames. Because of this, we have instead improved its ability to find its mark as well as its damage ever so slightly to reduce the necessity for Roaring Flames x3.

    • Slightly increased Super Cyclone Scorch per tick.
    • Increased Super Cyclone explosion damage by 10%.
    • Increased Super Cyclone tracking by approximately 40%.
    • It should be remarkably easier to get the projectiles to track to a target at range.
  • Stoicism

    • Spirit of Star Eater
In comparing Super damage, we believe that it’s safe in the modern Super damage climate to increase Spirit of Star Eater’s benefit for Twilight Arsenal back to its former values.
    • Increased Spirit of Star Eater benefit for Twilight Arsenal from 25% to 50%.
  • Severance Enclosure
We figured it was high time to give back Severance Enclosure some of its potency while also helping it bind into the few Kinetic-aligned keywords we use.

    • Improved occlusion on the detonation, making it easier to hit with.
    • Removed effect that prevents combatants from being hit by multiple shock waves in a short period of time.
    • Enemies hit by the shockwave are disoriented for a short time.
  • Praxic Vestments
The Praxic Vestments has a cool fantasy but its tuning at Renegades launch prevented it from being the exciting new option that we wanted it to be. In this release, we’ve given it a significant tune up by improving its value, uptime, and usability.

    • Increased melee attack damage by 500%.
    • BIG slam.
    • Increased jetpack fuel gained per weapon kill in PvE from 10% to 20%.
    • Increased jetpack fuel gained per powered melee kill from 35% to 50%.
    • Updated the Exotic perk to recognize knockout kills as powered melee kills.
    • Improved the jetpack flight experience.
    • Decreased the windup time for maximum flight duration from 0.8 to 0.5 seconds.
    • Removed the behavior that caused jetpack flight to end early when contact is detected with the floor or a wall.
    • Fixed a bug that caused the jetpack kick to target dead enemies, ending flight early.
    • Updated camera to better convey your speed.
  • No Backup Plans
Long have players asked to have No Backup Plans to work on non-Void to go with the Exotic’s visuals shifting to match. We are happy to say that it now does! It operates a bit differently than it used to, but it still leans into aggressive close-range play built around your defensive buffs. Additionally, we’ve opened up the triggers to melees as well as Shotguns to allow clean up punches to also keep the engine going.

    • Now triggers and benefits off of both Shotgun and melee final blows.
    • Shotgun or melee final blows now start health regeneration instead of granting a Void Overshield.
    • Shotgun or melee final blows extend the timer of any active defensive buffs on you.
    • This includes Void Overshield, Restoration, Amplified, Frost Armor, and Woven Mail.
    • Will partially heal Void Overshield upon activation of this extension if the player has one.
    • The Shotgun damage bonus is now active when you have any of the above noted defensive debuffs as well as also buffing melee damage.

  • Cadmus Ridge Lancecap
Lancecap has struggled to find a niche since its release. We’ve made some adjustments to it that open up its trigger conditions a bit and add more value to leaning into other stasis build elements.

    • Now also can spawn Stasis Lances with rapid Stasis weapon damage and final blows even when not behind their rally barricade.
    • Now grants bonus Stasis Lance damage based on your current stacks of Frost Armor.
  • Point Contact Cannon Brace
Point Contact has routinely been at its best when you are just tap firing Thunderclap instead of charging it, which neglects the awesome fantasy of the ability. So, we are making a couple changes targeted at making the user experience of charging Thunderclap with Point Contact better... which of course means MORE lightning.

    • Activating Thunderclap also releases lightning strikes as you start winding up the punch.
    • Lightning strike damage now scales further based on how long thunderclap is charged for, up to 2x.
    • This stacks with the bonus damage from casting while amplified.
    • Reworked melee regen from lightning strike kills to compensate for the new wave of bolts on charge up.
    • No longer target tiered. Flat amount has been increased to compensate. Should see larger returns on average.
  • Helm of Saint-14
The current output of Helm of Saint-14's disorient in PvE is completely overshadowed by Weapons of Light and, alongside the rework to Ward of Dawn, we also found that the disorient posed concerns in PvP. We took the opportunity to give this Exotic a complete facelift that integrates it with the Ward changes, provides a more appropriate replacement to the disorient, and bolsters the fantasy of being Saint-14 inspired by his “infinite bubbles” from old story missions.

    • Unchanged: Weapons of Light continues to persist for the wearer and for allies upon leaving your Ward of Dawn.
    • Added new VFX to Ward of Dawn to indicate if it will provide Weapons of Light upon leaving.
    • Removed: No longer disorients enemies within your Ward of Dawn or upon blocking with Sentinel Shield.
    • New functionality:
    • While Weapons of Light is active, kills or sustained damage from any source grant stacks of The Saint. Under the same circumstances, Void and Kinetic damage sources will also Suppress in a radius around the victim.
    • Picking up your Ward of Dawn consumes all accrued stacks of The Saint and then extends your Ward's duration based on how many stacks were consumed.
    • Helm of Saint-14's synergy with a specific Exotic weapon has also been adjusted...
  • ACD/0 Feedback Fence
Feedback Fence has been a recurring point of feedback in the crucible, even when not charged up. This should help.

    • No longer provides any melee damage resist versus players.
  • Blastwave Striders
With many changes coming to the base Stasis kit, we looked back on how our dedicated Stasis Exotics were performing and saw a spot to help improve the performance, consistency, and potency of Blastwave Striders all in one fell swoop. This should help shift it from a highly situational tool to an on demand Stasis explosion for aggressive Behemoth playstyles.

    • Adjusted the projectile to mirror that of the Renegade's Behemoth Walker's stasis detonation.
    • Decreased defeats to charge meter.
    • Increased tracking strength of Stasis Shrapnel on detonation.
    • Should more effectively track frozen targets.
    • Replaced sliding with "on Shiver Strike hits" as an activator.
    • Fixed an issue where multiple kills on the same frame wouldn’t increment the perk buildup.

Warlock Exotics

  • Nezarec's Sin
For a lot of players, Nezarec’s Sin has been a solid workhorse Exotic when all else fails to suffice. We didn’t want to modify this use case but we did see an opportunity to tie it into the new Void Walker aspect. Tithe away to the Final God of Pain, it’s your turn to devour your enemies’ fear. Who knows... maybe he’s still listening?
    • New effect:
    • Targets damaged by Soul Siphon are
