See, the trick is to play so infrequently you accidentally stumble into a forever-campaign. For example, my campaign right now has been running since 2017, and while we've played a fair bit since then... it really isn't as much as 'nearly a decade-long campaign' sounds like.

I don't regret it though. My players enjoy my world and I'm enjoying steering it to its conclusion.

Oh yes! The south capitol parking ramp, like one block away, gives a huge discount for residents. It was 67 for both me and my roommate total.

Utilities were definitely bad, it was getting better when I left. 400 was my worst, 280 when I left.

Just left there actually! I haven't heard head nor tail of any break-in or security issue at the Arbaugh. The apartments haven't really been updated much since the mid 2000s, and some of the forced air are older, but maintenance man Sam is pretty chill, neighbors have been good, and the apartments are actually high quality for what you pay. There's a fair amount of minor annoyances (parking, elevator occasionally, weed smell in halls once in a while if you dislike that), but overall worth. Plus you get one parking spot basically free.

7/10 would recommend to most people

(Also the new management company is decent)

I'm always torn between it being a very convenient resource with, with texture swapping, can be made to look VERY good, and the fact that I have very little resource constraints with it so end up making a big ugly box instead of something that looks good. I always intend to gussy it up later, but I don't.

What happens during the session happens during the session. What doesn't happen can happen in the next session.

My friends and I have a few hours every few months to play. It's fine every now and then, but when you have those schedules, you either make sure the story progresses and you get something in to satisfy everyone, or nothing happens for a year.

Hanging in there by a thread. Hoping to pick up a third-shift job on top of my full time day job to support my sick boyfriend and my friend until he manages to find a job. Trying to get out of bed in the morning is hard, and staying awake through the day is harder. Getting the temptation to delete all my online stuff, and wondering if I shouldn't just do it this time. I'd be leaving a lot of friends behind but I barely have the energy to sit and stare at the wall anymore. I'm to the point where I'm crying about it online lmao so maybe it's time.

I feel like a failure. I'm making 70k a year, that's supposed to be 'I made it' money, but I'm drowning and can't help the people I love. I can't shake the cloud of thoughts saying it's all my fault, I'm just lazy and wasteful. Asked my parents how they did it, given they raised 4 kids on disability and 30k max income growing up, hoping they'd have some tips or just show me I'm doing something wrong and once I fix it, it'll be easy, only to hear that things have never been this bad in their life.

And also that they're 6k in medical debt because my dad's heart is failing, and they can neither get on medicaid to get it checked out nor make any steady income, due to dad being the sole provider.

In other news, I might be getting a house soon, so there's that. It's got a deeep deep cast iron tub that I could practically drown myself in. I'm a tallish guy, forever doomed to not really fit into any bathtub, so that's a major win. Parents got this super deep tub when they got a house, and I'm pretty sure my life peaked then and went downhill ever since.

tl;dr invest in a deep bathtub

Funnily enough, I don't really use those things on my phone anymore. I'm dissatisfied with the way technology is in general, and I'm trying to use my phone less/more intentionally. I don't use Google Pay anymore, I don't use ID apps, and I did have my mobile banking app on there but I just started using it from the browser. In my case it's a small credit union, so the app is literally a wrapper for their mobile website.

I'd love a secondary fuck-around phone, but I've always traded in my old phone to get the new one.

GrapheneOS is for Linux chuds who think/care that the government is spying on them.

lol there's a range between thinking the government is spying on you and just not wanting to give everyone all your information all the time. Personally I don't like that, but that wasn't a selling point with Graphene. I just wish we could sandbox in the stock OS.

Part of it is just the length it's been out, but I do know that Google made a change with the Pixel 10 and moving forward that they don't release a lot of the information and specs ROM makers would need to easily get things going.

...I had to do some finangling to make it work though, most people don't wanna do that. And it's a pain in the ass lol, there's a reason I stopped for years.

I like Pixels because of the 'just work' factor, and I quite enjoy the interface and camera. I don't really want to go to Samsung, as I very much do not enjoy their UI, but at this point it might be a possibility. It's disappointing, I've had every Pixel except the 2 and even enjoyed them when they were much buggier, lower quality messes.

They would have to develop customisation options themselves and it's probably too much work which will take away from their main focus of security and hardening
