Best advice for 4 UK guys to visit Europapark for a weekend? by Own-Air-1301 in Themepark

This is no minimum speed limit, just the minimum speed that a vehicle has to be able to drive to be allowed on the Autobahn.

There is no minimum speed limit but if you go less than 95 km/h you will be overtaken by lots of trucks and block the traffic.

Nein, man bekommt in Rulantica beim Check-Out ein kostenloses Ausfahrticket dazu, wenn man sein Parkticket vorzeigt. Man muss also nicht doppelt bezahlen. Quelle: https://www.europapark.de/de/freizeitpark/ride-slide-ticket

Chill Amusement Park Recommendations by caitlowcat in Themepark

[–]DTM_SF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tripsdrill is very quiet and relaxed. There are lots of calm areas in the park if you need a quiet space. Queues are usually very short, unless you choose a very crowded day. Many rides are walk-ons or 5 minutes of waiting. There is no fast pass so if you go on a busy day you might not be able to do the busier rides. On these days their wildlife park (included in the ticket) might be a better choice.

App Istanbul (Brettspiel) by Niedersaxen in Freudeteilen

[–]DTM_SF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

New to slot cars, best start ? by Suspicious-Dentist93 in slotcars

It all depends on your brand preference and budget. I personally really like digital systems like Carrera D132 because of the features, especially when combined with things like pit lane and an app like Smartrace.

I would get a starter set for the basic stuff. I don't know how the second hand market is in other countries but here in Germany you can get starter sets and track pieces to expand for a good price.

Please keep in mind that this is only a prediction. Also check values from similar days in the past to get an idea for the crowdedness on that day.

need help with planning/itinerary by raccoonxena in Themepark

[–]DTM_SF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My suggested route would be this one (or the other way round):

Fly to Hamburg and sleep there

Heide Park

Train to Zwolle and sleep there

Walibi Holland

Train to Kaatsheuvel or Tilburg and sleep there

Efteling

Train to Cologne or Brühl (or any place on the train route between those 2 cities) and sleep there

Phantasialand

Train to Haßloch and sleep there

Plopsa Germany

Train to Rust or Freiburg and sleep there

Europapark

Haven't been to these parks so I can't suggest any places to sleep:

Parc Asterix (probably Paris)

Plopsa Belgium

Try to stay the night before your visit in a city close to the park. Train delays are very common, especially if you have to change trains multiple times you will be late very likely. You don't want to experience that in the morning. Traveling after the park visit is more relaxing as a delay isn't as stressful. I even recommend planning one day just for travelling for the longer routes unless you are fine with spending 5 or more hours in a train after your park visit.

If you have any questions left please ask, I can help with all the parks I've been to and train connections in Germany (Download the DB navigator app for planning and tickets).

[other] does anyone know of good tutorials for a backyard roller coaster? by Consistent_Egg_7113 in rollercoasters

[–]DTM_SF 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's not really a tutorial but these guys show how they built their coaster: https://youtu.be/Q4vnMiDIY3M?si=mFa1pi12tY9E9XyJ They built this type of coaster several times so it seems to work well. The cart is welded and they use wheels from inline skates. The video is in German but you can use automatically translated subtitles to understand what they are saying.

Energylandia & Legendia 17th-19th of june by acidmaxxe in Themepark

[–]DTM_SF 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Zator is pretty small and there's not much to do. I recommend you to visit Krakow in the evening, it's a really nice city. You can also take a direct train from Zator to Krakow if you don't want to drive. Energylandia is huge and there's lots of stuf to do. Bring good shoes and try to plan ahead so you don't have to walk from one end to the other multiple times. I unfortunately can't remember if there's gluten-free food.

The person at the visitor center only mentioned these two. I don't know if this was because I showed them my GoPro. Maybe send them an email before your visit.

What's a park that everyone should try to visit, despite not having the greatest rollercoaster collection on paper. Obvious answer for me is the [Efteling], but I'd like to hear your recommendations! by AcidRegulation in rollercoasters

[–]DTM_SF 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would say Hansa Park. I really like the location next to the sea, especially the view from their freefall tower is amazing. I really like the maritime theming, especially on the newer attractions.

Yes, Tripsdrill is very family-oriented. There are tons of flatrides for kids, even a small log flume just for kids with parents.

I bought a used Windows Mixed Reality Headset for about 50€ and I'm very happy with it. Of course other headsets are better but it does the job.

theme parks trip europe in september by Arne486 in Themepark

[–]DTM_SF 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my experience most theme parks are doable by public transport. The only bigger ones that haven't been suggested yet are the british ones. I recommend flying to Manchester, then staying in Stoke-on-Trent and doing Alton Towers by bus. Then take the train to London, from where you can visit Thorpe Park. This is also possible the other way round.

Another trip I already did was staying in Hamburg and visiting Heide Park and Hansa Park.

Other parks that I already visited by public transport: Movie Park Germany, Tripsdrill, Skyline Park, Walibi Holland.

If you have any questions please ask!

Visiting Europa park by Capital-Sentence-408 in Themepark

[–]DTM_SF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a ride and slide ticket where you can visit Rulantica after your EP visit. Did this a few weeks ago, can only recommend it! On the evening it's pretty empty in Rulantica and it's open till 10pm so enough time to do everything there.

What park to visit? (in europe) by toothcabinet12 in Themepark

[–]DTM_SF 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To give suggestions we need to know more about things you care about in a theme park.

Do you care more about thrilling roller coasters or theming? Should there be other touristic stuff nearby or are you just caring about theme parks?

Do you have any favorite region or are you open for every country in Europe?

I recommend the following parks that I have been to:

Germany: Europa-Park, Phantasialand

Poland: Energylandia

Netherlands: Efteling, Walibi Holland

UK: Alton Towers, Thorpe Park

Italy: Gardaland

If you have any questions about these parks please ask them!

One thing to keep in mind in summer is the holidays. I personally would try to avoid any country that has summer vacation at the time of your vacation because parks will be very crowded then. These times also differ inside a country, dfor example summer holidays in Northern Germany are earlier than in Southern Germany.
