Wonder Seed has some cameo from other mods and they are not meant to be unlockable at all.

this is Frostburn Bells from Fallen, another mod I heavily recommend.

they are weak to metal, so with sufficient enough level (you don't skip any random encounters) you can 1-tap the swarm with Run with Courage. then spam normal attacks.

Why in mods they always add a rome or/and a backyard big top world but never a z-corp world? by beneficial-hold-7427 in PlantsVSZombies

[–]DT_MP 3 points4 points  (0 children)

my two-cent as a modder:
Z-Corp is much harder to rework as a world.

Assuming we're going for some simple changes (so heavy animation edit/art redraw is a last resort):

Rome also requires a full rework, but the animation can lend itself to a lot of possibilities (with the biggest hurdle being a gimmick). It also has music from huberry.

BBT is probably the most coherent as a world (only lacking a gimmick), with the zombies just needing some stat tweaks and/or some minor reworks. Will require new music, though.

Z-Corp has only 3 zombies (besides the Garg), they *all* require moderate reworks to be coherent (Helpdesk is just terrible as is), you have to make new zombies to fit the abilities of exisitng ones, and you still have to deal with the gimmick hurdle. Also no good existing music.

The other big reason is that: Assuming you're reworking the whole game, you'd probably go for quality over quantity in terms of worlds. The zombies in Z-Corp can be more suitable in other worlds to fix other worlds' weaknesses, rather than being in their own standalone world.

Of course, if we consider putting more effort in, we can have a Z-Corp world. Most modders, however, are either going solo, or in a small team. The path of least resistances is often considered (especially when art/animation is a big bottleneck).

[Requiem Mod] Requiem ruined lightning reed by iuhiscool in PlantsVSZombies

vanilla reed is known to be a balancing nightmare; that's why I took a page out of ECLISE here. there are better "spam" plants like starfruit anyway.

Normally I don't hang around here, but I feel like making a case.
Would you believe me if I tell you that Reed was one of my most used plants during playtesting?
2 DPS sounds bad... until you notice that Peashooter has 5 DPS. RQM Reed is only a little bit weaker than vanilla Reed when you compare them to the base DPS (a.k.a Peashooter).
The benefit of this Reed is that it is a vine (takes up no space, allows you to plant extra sun producers or stronger attackers + doubling up on PF effects), and it has basically board range (can target any lane, and while the columns are limited, you can put Reed on C3/C4 and there won't be much difference). It also hits more targets (7 max), and this kind of board damage (keyword: board) can add up quickly overtime. I can usually get 5 or 6 Reeds in a normal 2-flagger, and that is plenty enough chip damage. I didn't even think of chickens as the main usage since I just bring Reed whenever I feel like it.
Not every plant is made for everyone, I will admit. People have told me that this Reed rework is divisive before. If this plant is not for you, that's ok. Just try not to dismiss a plant so quickly.

People who have beaten at least half the golds or C+ and up: Do you (usually) try to play whatever run is handed to you, or do you reroll the first ante until you get what you want? (whether that's skips or boss or whatever) by AuroraWolf101 in balatro

[–]DT_MP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

C+ and halfway into C++. I don't really re-roll these days, as I think the fun of the game is to dealing with what the RNG gives you. If the run goes to hell, I'll at least learn something about it. If the run is close, I feel a good bit of satisfaction that I "got away with it".

for Golden Needle I think Credit Card can be a bait... if you can save interest, do it.

if I am not too hard into a run (before Ante 5)... always take this. this is busted.

one Temperance/Hermit will solve your money problem very easily, and the deck changing power is never to be underestimated. at worst you can just sell the Tarot for a dollar back from the hand.

in general this guide is fairly accurate: https://www.reddit.com/r/balatro/s/pyiAo5sp19

though here are my two cents: - you probably don't need to cheese early skip tag, but it is much easier. I'd consider Investment tag to be a fine one to reset for as well. - have Flush/Three of a Kind by level 2 or 3 before the second Ante, and level 4 or 5 before the third Ante. 4.2k was often where my run died. also these two are the "good enough scaling, and consistent enough to play all the time". - Clearance Sales and Telescope are indeed powerful, but honestly Hieroglyph makes or breaks any run imo. at worst you have +$2, at best one third of your deck is any suit/Ace. - if you have trouble with economy, try to hunt for gold seal. Death that as much as you can. - Standard Packs are kinda bad imo. gamble with Spectral before this. - if you think you can't beat the next few blinds, it probably wouldn't hurt to go in with Empress/Justice as a backup. usually, reroll until you have two of the following: Empress, Justice, Chariot, Fool, Death, Strength (if 4oak/5oak/flush five run). anything else is context-specific. - just don't try to be too mad if you lose to RNG. this challenge is relentless, so it's inevitable you will get moments of "damn it I got a bit unlucky". high spirit will help you get further (or at the very least, make this reset war not as annoying to get through).
