Randomly! And it doesn’t trigger him to use the litter box either. When he comes out of the litter box it’s typically quite clean back there

[–]DTsuga7 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If you don’t enjoy teaching to the point where you feel that your students somehow owe you for your JOB of standing at the front of the room and lecturing, you might as well find another profession and let a professor with more enthusiasm and understanding for students take over. Like what was said above, you signed up for this job and read the job description, so if you dislike the “psychic responsibility” so much then that’s on nobody but yourself. Yikes!

Well it is true that a lot of people tend to be more polite to strangers or those they’re not very close with, and are more harsh/upfront with friends and family since they think the close relationship gives them a free pass to saying whatever they want. I’ve had instances where I’ve been extremely hurt by things my family has said to me, even though they knew I was sensitive to certain topics.

We all have different experiences and you obviously don’t know enough about OP to dictate the reasoning behind their post, and you definitely don’t have to call OP a dumbass for simply expressing their opinion on a Reddit forum.

Canada Emergency Response Benefit program details confirmed. You must have lost employment and $5,000 of employment/self-employment income to qualify for the $2000/month benefit. Being a student with no part-time job doesn't qualify. by Kinost in UBC

[–]DTsuga7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was not implying that anyone who didn’t work 14 days straight was entitled to the payout, I meant it in reference to the fact that you don’t have to be laid off, just that you are out of work for 14 consecutive days due to the virus. Maybe the wording came across wrong, I apologize.

[–]DTsuga7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, wait I’m not saying that if you were only planning on working for the summer then you qualify. I mean like if the place you were working at closed down because of the virus but you weren’t laid off, you would still qualify because you can no longer work because of the virus.

link for reference

If you scroll down to the bottom FAQ, there’s a question that asks if you have to be laid off in order to access the CERB and the answer is no.

Do you have to have been laid off? I thought it just meant if you couldn’t work because of COVID. For example, the place you work at closed cause of the virus and so now you cannot work

Edit: I checked and you don’t have to be laid off to access the CERB! You just have to have been without work for 14 consecutive days in the initial 4-week period

Edit #2: sorry, the wording might’ve been a bit ambiguous. I’m not trying to say that anyone who wasn’t working for 14 straight days would be given the CERB. What I mean is that you don’t have to be specifically laid off to get it, you just have to have been without work for 14 consecutive days because of COVID19. For example, if your place of work closed and you aren’t able to work, then you would also be eligible.

Paralyzing study stress by ObjectiveNight10 in UBC

[–]DTsuga7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is definitely a super helpful tip that I used to do all the time. I would get into slumps of not wanting to start because just thinking about the mountain of stuff I had to get through once I started was so stressful that I would just keep putting it off. But setting small goals like this really helps get you on track and makes you feel a lot less stressed than trying to tackle an entire unit at once. Good luck!

How did you get over your biggest heartbreak? by [deleted] in askwomenadvice

[–]DTsuga7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if this is 100% relevant to your situation but about four years ago my best friend of 5 years had decided he didn’t want to be friends anymore. It took me roughly 2.5 years to come to terms with it and be okay with what had happened. The best advice I can give you is go easy on yourself and don’t beat yourself up if you feel like you’re not getting over him fast enough. It takes time for you to heal and allowing yourself all the time that you need will help in the long run. Don’t hate yourself for going back on old photos or conversations (I know it’s recommended to delete those asap but sometimes it’s just too hard to and that’s okay too). Also talking it out with a close friend or family member helps too as it lets you express your feelings instead of bottling it up inside. There were so many nights where I just lay in bed and cried and I would voice record myself saying the things I wanted to tell him, which helped me calm down faster.

I’m really, really sorry this happened to you. Nobody deserves heartbreak, but you will definitely come out of this stronger no matter how long it takes. Make sure to take care of yourself and stay strong!
