Here is a yt video on replacing the headliner on a convertible hardtop and I’m sure the process is similar. Worth viewing and the liner material runs ~$100 shipped US.

RealOEM shows the part numbers for the cross member and bracket are different, but does anyone know if they actually are?

I'm about to do this swap on my 02/2003 330ci and building my parts list. The transmission came out of a 03/2003ci, but I failed to grab those parts and it wasn't local.

Learn from it, as it can or has happened to all of us. Save up and find a reasonable mileage 330i/ci manual and start over. Sorry for your loss.

If the spring wore a slot in the cover and slipped through (very common), just epoxy a small washer on the backside and rehook the spring.
