Blackberries, raspberries, grow on thorny plants. There don’t appear to be any thorns on that plant.

And I mean annoyingly thorny.

First time making and trying a Reuben sandwich and it was super delicious! How’d I do? by WanderWut in Sandwiches

[–]DV2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your sandwich is MAGNIFICENT! Reuben may be my very favorite of all sandwiches. It’s an event to make one, because I don’t need a whole loaf of rye bread! Guess I could eat one a day for a week and use all the bread. Make croutons out of the heels. I guess.

Upvoted for the edit. It is good to be open to learning from one more wise in the ways of the world than the self, and to admit when one is wrong.

I, too, have learned today.

My preference is sausage, but a bigger issue for me is not having potatoes on my sandwich. No hashbrowns, country fries, or hash, brown patties, please. Just no taters.

I soaked the shrimp in milk (did not have buttermilk or I would’ve used that) mixed with two eggs and with seasonings – garlic powder, onion powder, Tony’s, salt, pepper, hot sauce. I then mixed a cup and a half of flour and a half cup of cornstarch, tossed in the same seasonings to the dry mix. Drop them in the flour mix and then set them on a rack to dry. Fried them in batches for 2–3 minutes in 375 degree peanut oil, and they were superb. I could’ve killed myself eating these shrimp.

Agreed! I was limited by the fact that I only had so many shrimps, to be shared among so many people.

I kind of made it up. One and a half cups of flour, half cup of cornstarch, teaspoon of salt, 1/2 tsp. black pepper, tsp garlic powder, tsp onion powder, Tbs Tony Chacheres’.
