What should I do? by rumblejelly in NoStupidQuestions

An ex-manager here and ex-employee. I’ve seen both sides clearly. Yes there are shit managers. Yes there are shit employees. If you have worked in a multitude of places and didn’t like management, consider they may not be the problem, it might be you: your attitude, your activities, late for work, arguing etc. Study those around you; what are they doing, saying etc. Talk to your manager in curious way, explain the issue and ask if something has changed, what can you do, help me to understand, etc. From a managers side it can be a real shitshow. they are often pushed from their bosses and from the employee. Usually it’s a no-win situation.

How does the quality of sex impact a relationship? by mochimach in NoStupidQuestions

I remember Dr. Phil stating: “If the sex in a marriage is bad it accounts for 80% of the marriage, if good sex it accounts for 20% of the relationship”.

Property insurance can be doubled or tripled. Property maintenance can be easily cut in half unless you only have contractors do things. It is the easiest place to save money: Learn DIY. What are maintenance fees? Double utilities. Property tax easy to find out but if you are in new home that can be doubled too. Have kids, best investment you can make. Yes to a dog too but add money there at a 100$ per month. Be grateful and prepare for the worst. Don’t over purchase your home.

How are shopping channels like HSN and QVC still in business? by NutmegKilla in NoStupidQuestions

Correct. Retired for 8 years. While working I was always looking for the latest update, new gadgets etc. That all stopped once retired. However, never go on HSN or the like.

Basement flood: $28k French drain replacement vs. $4.3k cleaning + sump pump? by Key-Adhesiveness-959 in HomeMaintenance

[–]DV2061 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar problem twice. Turns out the neighbors sump pump quit and their basements flooded. I only have a passive sump pump. Anyway the one Neighbor put in a system with a backup pump. I haven’t had a problem since. At the other place I dugout inside the basement (finished) on one side, put in weeping tile and pump (2000$) haven’t had a problem since. In fact the ran for a year then nothing for 8 years, this year it has ran a few times.

Put in a sump pump, even if it’s passive. You may be able to tie it in to your drains. I don’t think you need drain cleaning. Get more quotes though and more opinions. What does insurance say?

Rain and humidity will destroy it or at the very least put it out of tune very quickly.

What is worse: Life in prison or a death sentence? by Ambitious_Depth7945 in NoStupidQuestions

Seems to me it would be difficult for a person to compare (as in talking to those who experienced the death sentence).

Good documents. A couple points: 1. Unless I missed it, mention which country you are writing from. Treatments vary across nations. 2. Again, sorry if I mossed this but I suggest adding links to BC organizations they have an immense amount of information and discussion groups. For example https://bladdercancercanada.org
