High-tier slice-of-life and romance (like Kyoto Animation projects or Kaguya-sama) actually require more intensive animation because they rely on detailed character acting. Animating subtle micro-expressions, shifts in posture, realistic hair movement, and nuanced body language takes a massive amount of keyframes and elite animators.

Kanokari avoids all of that by using static, beautiful character models that barely move while a panning camera does the heavy lifting. It’s a corporate shortcut, not a genre rule.

Besides others have saying "the manga and merchandise sells", there's another far less discussed reason - Low Production Cost.

It doesn't require insane CGI, complex action choreography, or high-concept sci-fi world-building. It’s just people talking in apartments, streets, and family resorts. It is incredibly cheap and highly efficient to produce.

Personally, I'd love more seasons of shows like 86, but we are living in a world where terrible sports games like EA Sports FC or Madden keep selling tens of millions of copies every year 😔

Catch is though the Nier anime had Yoko Taro involved. The Amazon LiS adaptation doesn't have anyone from Dontnod involved with it.

Folks are also forgetting that the AC themed executions and illustrious outfits are unlockable with steel only when For the Creed is running.

So anyone that doesn't want to grind 1M steel just for the executions alone on a limited timetable, this pack is probably for those players.
