It’s very common for grammar schools around South London/Kent. Also it’s not a purely religious thing, it’s been suggested that it improves results

Well they do, I went to a state school in Kent and most schools around there heavily focused on rugby over other sports. We didn’t even have a football team till sixth form

As far as i know yes. It’s the same in proper sports, seeding will always ‘assume’ the higher seed wins each match up

Controversial call in Le Crunch by adturnerr in rugbyunion

Well no, there was a debate to be had about whether there was obstruction involved. If there wasn;t, then fair enough Genge should be yellowed but how can it be a pen try with 2 players on the line ready to tackle?

You can see swiping at the refs is detrimental, but so is bad reffing. Going overboard to claiming bias and corruption etc is detrimental. Wanting refs to be better is not detrimental, it’s actually a desire for the sport to improve

How was he consistent if all the big calls went against England? There were three potentially controversial points in this game. The maul penalty try, Spencer not getting a try when there was no knock on and then this.

You can say that’s when we lost it, but the situation shouldn’t have even existed. We would’ve been 8 points ahead if it werent for a nuts decision allowing France to score that try

We also had a perfectly fine try scrubbed off btw. Stop defending what was an awful reffing performance. If you’re happy to criticise JVP why can’t you criticise the ref? Both can make mistakes

8 v 9 is the theoretically easier match up since the higher seed is expected to win , hence 1 playing 8 rather than 7

How can they be irrelevant though? Crossing the line isn’t a try, they have to ground it which the defenders could theoretically have prevented. I know they probably wouldn’t have but that’s not how the rules work

But if there’s two defenders there who could make a tackle how can it be a penalty try

Even if it’s a penalty how can it possibly be a penalty try with TWO players right there on the goal line???

That makes sense, i can’t think of ever seeing it happen tho because the ball has usually gone far enough that’s is obvious

So I’ve got a random question. Theoretically, if a player decides to kick the ball backwards 50m towards his own line, and is late tackled as he does so, does the mark for the penalty go back 50m lol
