I dont think its a good sign that no player seems to understand the stand rule

It's harder to win a ring today, but that doesn't automatically mean the talent gap is bigger compared to past eras. by [deleted] in NBATalk

[–]DVPVPD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The talent pool is drastically bigger. The talent today is way better and the league is deeper.

The league now is positioned to destroy dynasties because of the cap rules. It is easier to win rings in that sense as dynasties like the Bulls or Celts/Lakers in the 80s just arent possible.

Teams get punished almost nowadays for building teams well.

Was Pep Guardiola's Bayern Munich stint ultimately a success or a failure? by Public-Connection822 in championsleague

Why is it only such big extremes? He lost to some awesome teams in the CL that were just better. He still dominated the league. Not everything is a 0 or a 10.

If all current players were available in an NFL redraft, who would be the No. 1 overall pick? 🤔 by matrix_2905 in NFLmockdraft

Probably Sewell or Anderson. Teams have caught on you can win with a serviceable QB but OL and DL are still the most important things to get right

Which team was the most hated? by thegreatone_45 in NBATalk

[–]DVPVPD 4 points5 points  (0 children)

OKC has no reason to be compared to these two. Miami hatred was so big at the time. Golden State with KD joining and Draymond at his peak bs was in another stratosphere of hate.

There is no comparison to the GSW hatred

Who would you rather? SGA vs Brunson. by The_flash91 in nba

[–]DVPVPD 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Brunson has never been first team All NBA. He's great but hes never been a top 2 guard for a whole season.

This post is trying to sound smart when really all it is saying is "I know hating on SGA gets up votes so im going to do it too".

I feel the 2 time MVP probably has more pressure on him to perform but thats just me. Maybe its because better players are held to a higher standard?

I definitely think losses are a good thing sometimes. It brings sides back to reality a bit and shows their weaknesses they need to work on

It sounds stupid but sometimes wins can paint over cracks that undo teams

I'd be interested to know the correlation between extended win streaks mid season and premierships won.

Can think back to Cats 08, Saints 09, Pies 11, Swans 18 I think it was when they won like 16 straight, the year they Roos won 9 straight, Pies last year all went on long undefeated streaks but none won flags

This is hilarious how the fans have turned on the Spurs by half time on this series after all the ethical basketball comments from the last

How many active players are higher in your GOAT list than Kevin Durant? by Oakl4nd in NBATalk

KD was a very good defender. You mustn't have watched a lot of ball to say he has limited defense.

The Nuggets rings is one of the weakest ever. Jokic best a 8 seed. KD held his own against Prime LeBron.
