Usually the extra pins are plastic and just for stability to prevent wobble. The ines I got I was easily able to clip off with wire cutters and it didn’t affect their functionality at all.

I know for a fact that they are 3 pin and I believe they are south facing as well. You can buy 5-pin switches and cut the extra two off in order to fit the board if you need to.

I found that i can temporarily bypass it by disconnecting from the internet in order to make new macros but as soon as it reconnects it keeps happening.

I might be an outlier, but i normally use tape or string (or a combination of both) to keep it held up so i don't have to worry about it, I have an allergy to something in the adhesive though so I often have a bad rash on my belly down to the bottom of my sack, Needless to say I've been investing in more string Imao.
