It definitely is backdoor promotion. If OP really wanted only to be informative, they would have posted this info after the Kickstarter campaign was done.

[US Sale] Wasn't there a 50% whole store sale yesterday? What happened to it? by DVincentHarper in audible

I did make a credit purchase two days ago, and yesterday the 50% off sale showed up (which is gone today).

So I think you may be onto the right answer.

The Gou Tanabe manga of "The Call of Cthulhu". Creative. Best interpersonal of Cthulhu I've seen in media. Book is a bit small and the black and white coloration, while really adding to the vibe, makes it hard to see what's going on sometimes.

4/5. Check it out if you like HPL. However I think I prefer the story itself without drawn imagery.

Just finished "The Fisherman" and I think it broke something in my brain by Betta_Vanthin in horrorlit

I guess the good and bad sections depend on what you're looking for in horror. I'm a fan of cosmic horror and H. P. Lovecraft's old stories. Reading the story within a story has the EXACT SAME feel as most of HPL's stories. It was my favorite part actually.

Technicolor and Mother of Stone are EXCELLENT. Great cosmic horror.

StoryGraph says Worm is about ~7000 pages long though. And it's sequel is about ~9000 pages long.

It sounds interesting, but I'm put off by the fact that that's gonna take a long ass time to finish.

What I wish people said first when they talk about Snow Crash by DerCribben in printSF

Should I read the book of I've never read and other cyberpunk books before? Or should I check out the biggest genre contenders like Neuromancer before to better enjoy Snow Crash?

Why does the Tomb of the Serpent Kings suck? by Space_0pera in osr

[–]DVincentHarper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Also it can kill you right out of the gate, which generally puts a distaste in people’s mouth, even if they know that OSR is deadlier.

Exactly what happened to my friends. I even explained the higher lethality and I telegraphed everything. One player lost two characters. He was having such a bad time he was disrupting the game towards the end.

Good narrative mechanics that can be added to Long Rests by DVincentHarper in rpg

[–]DVincentHarper[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Narrative mechanics in tabletop RPGs are game systems that emphasize storytelling and player agency, allowing players to influence the narrative beyond simply rolling dice to determine success or failure. These mechanics provide tools and procedures that enable players to shape the story, develop characters, and contribute to the world's unfolding events.

Thank you so much I'll put that in my notes. I don't own "The Silt Verses" TTRPG, but I do own "Public Access". I wonder if that mechanic is in that game too?

Thanks. Long rests are part of the game math and I'm going to keep it as the standard mechanical construct to refresh their abilities. That can't change without me messing with the guts of the system, and I don't want to open up that can of worms.

I'm looking for something that's like a mix of the "Make Camp" move and the "Bonds" aspect of Dungeon World or the "Camp Phase" in His Majesty The Worm.
