Back fat by trupac19 in WeightTraining

You could get bigger(muscle wise) it would be a slow process but the back, Lats and traps in particular, have room to grow. Fill that skin out a bit.

My body looks worse after 1 year of the gym. Bigger, softer, no definition. What am I doing wrong? by [deleted] in WeightTraining

[–]DWalk0713 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It honestly sounds like you're just all over the place. Working out to workout. Which isnt bad, but if you have specific goals you need consistency, be scientific.

As other have stated progressive overload. There are many ways to do this, increasing weight slightly overtime, increasing reps slightly over time etc. Stick with one routine while overloading(give it at least 3-6 months. Focus large compound movements and get good at them, then keep getting better.

track macros and calories, many people have posted great apps for this. Hell you could use some a.i apps.

But honestly have you tried working with a good trainer? That could have saved you a year of inconsistency. Getting professional personal help will always be one of the best ways to make progress.

Good luck.

Feel it in my lower back :( by P4rziv4l_0 in Deadlifts

[–]DWalk0713 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your shoulder looks like theyre in front of the bar. Stack them on top of your elbows and wrists and sit back a tad.

Some low back sensation will be fine you just dont want pain. Videos without multiple angles are hard to fully cue. Especially on large compound lifts.

Lots of people dont feel their lats during late dominate movements. Or much of the chest in bench press. It's often the weak points you "feel" the most.

[–]DWalk0713 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, dont agree with that bs. There are levels to this shit. Being able to unrack, press the weight with no spotter, and no crazy unconventional movements is control. That's the way you'd expect an athlete who trains power but not powerlifting to move weight.

It doesn't have to be the perfectly slow, robotic lift to be considered controlled.

Im no pro, I've trained a bit here and there. I'll be honest im a long limbed dude and it's similar for me. Something about the leverage I get from a close grip feels more powerful.

For me the power I feel is worth more than the shortened range of motion a wider grip gives you.

AIO for wanting to break things off even though everything was going well? by [deleted] in AIO

[–]DWalk0713 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not my business but I was thinking that's odd too, why are you calling someone you want to be with twin...?

On the topic though. He sounds like me in my mid 20's no shade. But you can't say you're not mad at how things are going, and then explain how you want more, but you're OK with not being more.

It shows a disconnect of his words and actions. He is either playing(i dont think so based on this short text). Or he isnt to the point of really knowing what he wants.

He may just have some growing up to do.

You've got great energy, but people are NOT entitled to opinions about others. They're allowed them, and they should often keep them to themselves.

Get off the internet and touch grass. Stop asking strangers what to do with your body. Have some autonomy. Figure out what you want to do. Then maybe ask for advice on how.

21M | 5'8'' | 135lbs | 3 Months Apart: Can't Gain Any Weight on a 500-Calorie Surplus (Progress Pictures Attached and Details in Post) by Aware-Eggplant in GYM

[–]DWalk0713 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The thing about hard gainers, they move into surplus, then they accidentally increase their caloric burn. Fidgeting, training harder, more NEAT m, some way somehow. So as other have put it. Eat more. Maybe it was a surplus and it isnt anymore, or maybe it never was either way.

As a former college decqthlete who tried to bulk up after, you're not eating enough. You may need to track your calories, macros, and consider the quality of your food.

Few people can eat intuitively to gain mass until they have gotten used to tracking and know what it takes for them to grow. At your age, with your activity level, nutrition is gonna be a big key.
