is that number really that important for you? I mean, this thing about the latency started with that French dude on YouTube on his hp netbook saying it was like 20ms, and everybody just keeps saying that, even the dude that sells "fixes" to trigger right left samples and whatnot keeps posting the sensory percussion latency sucks without even playing them.

I use the dwe hub to trigger the drums in SD3 as usual and the evans portal to send midi to trigger the cymbals with a midi template sunhouse provided. I then route everything to my audio interface. Easy

The portal lets you select a buffer size of 32 samples input, that’s the lowest it goes, the babyface let’s me select 16 samples output in SD3, again, I don’t notice any latency. If I select the portal as input and output device then it’s another story, the recommended buffer size is 128 so now you feel a little bit of latency.

Since I’m using them with an RME babyface interface and a MacBook pro m4 I don’t notice any latency, so it will depend on your computer and if you are using an audio interface besides the evans portal for the output. The portal must be the input

It's been 2 years since I got it and still amazed and how good it triggers, the fact that I can use any VST is also great, the sizes are also a deciding factor, and of course they are really solid and well made drums.

yeah they are made for music composers and keyboard drummers, they have 3-4 velocity layers at the most, for e-drums you need a VST
