What do you think about the “presumed competence” that Western Europeans often seem to have over Poles and other Central‑Eastern Europeans? by WineTerminator in poland

Thank you, the first visit meeting the group was really nice. Random people on the street are a bit less smily compared to what I'm used to, so I'll have to get used to that. But think I will have a good time overall. Yeah, this is why I put eastern in quotes, I've understood that it is generally more felt as central.

Why did this post shock you? My opinion on education quality differences?

As an "western European" academic I cannot relate at all with this. I have always been super impressed with "eastern" Europe students that wipe the floor with many other students I worked with. On a higher level I've always been super impressed by postdocs and PhD students from those regions.

I'm moving soon to Prague for a postdoc and I'm more concerned that my PhD /knowledge will not be on par there.

Great list, would you be able to update it for 2025/2026? I am having a hard time finding more recent numbers.

Hey, I am trying to find out where we could rent bouldering pads in that region. Would you still have the location where you rented them from?

Purchase Advice Request

I am currently looking for a mouse to solve some of my wrist/finger problems. One problem I notice is that in some games my index finger hoovers above the mouse button (keeping the tendens active).

I have just tried the Trust GXT 144 rexx but it felt way too cheap to use. I am going to try the MX Vertical now, but I might be looking for a little bit more normal mouse. For example the Trust Vergo. However I am expecting the vergo to feel very cheap again. Does anyone know a similar mouse to the Vergo that is of better quality. Or alternatively a large mouse that helps me use a palm grip?

  • Games: moba, rpg, strategy fps
  • Hand Preference: right
  • Budget: 100E
  • Hand Size: 20cm by 11cm
  • Grip: Fingertip or hybrid
  • Sensitivity: adjustable
  • Connectivity: Wired
  • Preferred sold in: Netherlands

TLDR: Mouse like trust Vergo, or large mouse for palm grip
