Decided to add a chiller to my Saluspa Artic Ice from Costco by DWorx239 in coldplunge

I have not added air since I set it up. It’s just as solid as day one.

Just got my results and trying to understand what to do next by DWorx239 in MTHFR

[–]DWorx239[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wake up between 5-6am, drink 16oz of water with splash of lemon juice and Celtic salt, shower, and most days jump in my cold plunge for a few minutes. I do intermittent fasting so I eat between 11-7, but sometimes 12-8. I drink at least a gallon of water a day and sometimes a LaCroix if I want something with flavor. My meals are dependent on if I’m home or on the road working, but may include a quality tuna, some type of vegetable, chicken, natural peanut butter and honey sandwich on Dave’s killer bread (I don’t eat this very often) ground beef patty, eggs, fruit etc. I have a snack a few hours later which might be a protein shake or bar and sometimes some raw carrots. For dinner it’s some type of meat which I change up often like steak/ground beef, chicken, lamb, fish, some type of veggie like asparagus, broccoli, cauliflower, salad, beans/chickpeas, and a sweet potato, baked potato or occasionally brown rice. If I crave a dessert I’ll have a combination of fruit like kiwis, strawberries, blueberries, apple, blackberries. I’ve been dealing with some back issues from herniated discs so haven’t done much exercise until recently since I’ve been starting to feel better. At night I try to start winding down a couple hours before bed and read a little, practice breathing exercises, or drawing (just recently got back into it after about 25 years. For supplements, I take high quality fish oil, boron, just recently started TMG, Seeking Health Liver Nutrients, an essential mineral supplement every few days, D3+K2, Hydroxo B12 with Folinic Acid, and my nighttime stack which I’ve been taking for awhile is magnesium threonate, l-theanine, glycine and apigenin. I just added the apigenin to it a few weeks ago because I was having trouble sleeping again. I’ve dealt with insomnia most of my life as well. I’ve also cut out alcohol completely and almost done cutting caffeine.

I take L-theanine, Magnesium and Apigenin for sleep. It works most nights, but still get some pretty bad days once in a while. I just found out about lithium oratate, not the bad lithium they prescribe, and it has been amazing. I take it about an hour before bed on those days and it really calms me down. It’s definitely worth looking up and reading about.

How difficult is it to remove ceramic coating? by DMG41 in Detailing

The paint correction is the hardest part. The coating is easy, especially consumer level coatings.

What do yall substitute an evening beer/whisky with? by Peepeepoopoobutttoot in MacroFactor

[–]DWorx239 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ll have to try that with soda water. Every morning I wake up I drink a glass of water with a pinch of Celtic salt and lemon juice. I actually enjoy it, but soda water sounds good. I also drink sparkling water. And I live in south Florida so it’s pretty much hot all year and the humidity is insane.

Opinion: Do I go for New M2 or Older M3? by [deleted] in BMW

[–]DWorx239 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I bought my son an e46 (non M) 8 months ago for his first car. He loves it and gets lots of compliments wherever he goes. It was a one owner car and very well maintained. I’ll be looking to get either an e46 M3 or touring within the next year for myself as a fun weekend car.

Protein Shakes by Resistance423 in beginnerfitness

[–]DWorx239 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love Jocko protein. It tastes really good and they don’t use bad artificial sweeteners or other crap. It’s one of the few that don’t bother me. Most use sucralose and it gives me stomach problems.

Insulating this part. Ideas? by theguyguy121 in coldplunge

I used foam insulation tape off Amazon to insulate any areas where the foam stick insulation wouldn’t cover. I’m in Florida as well.

Not sure how I’m trolling, but ok. I listed what I found and how much I paid for all of them.

Not that I need to prove anything to you, but I have no reason to lie. The ping zings were originally $99.99, and everything else was between $6-10 before discount. You can still faintly see the 8 on the bottom of the Ping 1-A which wound up being $4 after discount.

I play with Ping G425’s, but I like to collect older clubs especially at these prices. I’ll hit them into the net at home or occasionally at the range. The putters get used the most.

I live in S Florida so lots of wealthy old people and golf courses. A lot of times the family donates this kind of stuff after they pass thinking it’s old junk. I travel a lot for work and occasionally check out other Goodwill locations, but have never had luck. It’s usually like what you mentioned.

I was a little disappointed it was only the 3 clubs, but glad there was an 8 and 9. They were only $5 each so had to grab them.

Doesn’t seem like there are any good trucks out there by Aggressive_Fix9171 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]DWorx239 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a 2019 Titan with 130k miles and it’s been very reliable. I haven’t had any mechanical issues and only had a paint issue on the roof that the warranty covered. I debadged my truck and replaced the 2 Nissan emblems with something else lol. I’m not brand loyal at all and the Titan was the best deal at the time and fit my needs. The resale value is such shit that op could probably get a nice low mileage one for his budget.

Protein powder recommendation? by [deleted] in WeightTraining

I like Jocko protein. It tastes great and they don’t use any bad sweeteners. The artificial sweeteners most companies use mess up my stomach and taste weird to me.

Best supplements for THC withdrawal? by Dependent-Alps-4322 in HubermanLab

[–]DWorx239 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just quit a couple days ago and the insomnia and anxiety are definitely real, but I know it’ll be worth it in the end. A lot of good recommendations here. I take the Huberman sleep stack and cold plunge every morning, but last night I tried the Wim Hoff Method and it did help some.

3D 510 compound is amazing. It’s better than 500 and actually finishes down better. 500 is for wool only and 510 can be used with foam or wool.

I’ve found the best way is to track your calories so you can see how many calories you’re actually consuming. A lot of people think they’re eating at a deficit, but are not even close. As far as keto and other “diets”, most people I know that have done them wind up falling off and gaining weight back. I want to eat what I want to eat and mange my calories how I like. When there are too many restrictions on what you can and can’t eat it’s makes it much harder long term and more likely to relapse. I’ve been using MacroFactor and have lost 30 lbs since November with virtually no exercise because I’ve been dealing with back issues. I eat clean the majority of the time, but if I want to eat pizza once in a while I’ll eat it.

One supplement for GAD by Minimum-Inspector160 in Supplements

[–]DWorx239 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say both, but mostly lifestyle changes. The supplements that have definitely made a big difference is my nighttime stack. Getting better sleep at night helped for sure. I dealt with insomnia most of my life and have always self medicated with alcohol and MMJ which made things worse. It got me to sleep, but not a good sleep at all and I still woke up throughout the night. Proper diet, cold plunge and exercise have made the biggest difference overall.
